SOURCE: PEG PEREGO JOHN DEERE GATOR

Problem #1:If you have taken the high speed safety device off the stick shift(small red plastic block screwed on below the yellow stick shift housing) then your high/low speed switch has gone out. There are two motors(one on each back wheel) that both have to come on when in high speed. Only one comes on for low speed. It is the switch under shifter that is not spring loaded. hi/lo switch #MEPU0002 available at www.tigerimports.net for $11.00 plus $2.00shipping That is where I got mine.
Problem #2: Sounds like you need hi/lo switch and possibly forward/reverse switch too. Before buying forward/reverse switch try putting a little grease on the white plastic assembly that engages the forward/reverse switch between the top piece and the piece that pushes down on top of the switch. Sometimes they just stick enough to stop switch from depressing. It is the switch under shifter that is spring loaded.Forward/reverse switch #MEPU0003 $11.00 plus $2.00 shipping @tigerimports.net

Here are the printable instructions from the Perego website.
http://www.pegperego.com/pegcatalogue/toys/downloads/Gator_Work_FIUS0301G24.pdf

From what I can tell, there are levers on both sides of the grill that you press to flip the grill down to the ground. You can then get to the battery to pull it out and charge it.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: replace parts on ride-on toys

The gearboxes for both hummers and peg perego gators are under the back seat.
If you hear a clicking noise It is definatly the gearbox on the gator. The hummer gearboxes sometimes come loose from the motors, so it may be as simple as tightning the motor gearbox.
Here is how you take the gearboxes out from the gator.
1. disconnect battery
2. take hinge pins out from the dump bed to access the green cover plate.
3. take a flathead screwdriver and pry around the plastic cover to expose the gearboxes.
4. take the rear wheels off and remove the rear axle.
remove the motor gearboxes (they are interchangeable)
5. install the new gearboxes making sure the wires are secure and the wheels are going in the correct direction.
6. put back together.
7. hook up battery and your good to go!

SOURCE: Yanmar diesel engine model#3007D003 powering a 6x4 cuts off.

My thought is that it is electrical, since it will not crank. I assume you mean that it will not turn over when you turn the key. I am not certain, but I think that if you have an electrical problem it may shut off the fuel supply as well. There is probably an electrical fuel stop on that machine. Since there is no spark plugs or electrical system to make the engine run, by shorting out the electrical system it will not stop the engine.

Wont run and emits white smoke

Hi Jeremy:
Sounds like there is still diesel in the fuel system.
There will be a plug on the bottom of the carb.
If you unscrew it and allow it to drain, it will flush the carb.
I'd suggest changing the fuel in the tank again.
You may also need to change the spark plug.
You won't have damaged the engine.
Cheers.

How to bleed the fuel system in a John Deere 318D?

The first question is did you run out of fuel? if so you will have almost certainly dragged all the debre, sludge and jelly from stale fuel into the system. remover the fuel filter and ensure that diesel is flowing freel into the fuel filter assembly head. If not blow back through the pipe into the tank with an air line to push the debre back into the tank. Alternatively (and I prefer this method) remove the fuel roll up some rag around the air line, leaving the nozzle through the rag and bung up the filler hole making the best seal you can and pressurise the tank in very short bursts of air. this should force out the debre and jelly in the pipework and out of the inlet of the fuel filter. (then you have less rubbish in your tank for the future). fit a new fuel filter (don;t be tempted to use the old one). then bleed the filter by removing the uppermost bleed bolt. (you can short circuit the filling by putting as much clean diesel into the new filter assemble before you assemble it.) when clear diesel runs out of the bleed screw, retighten. Follw the pipework to the fuel pump and bleed this by losening the bleed bolt on the top of this. If there is a manual primer (usually a lever at the bottom of a glass bowl). use that to push fuel through the system, if not get 'another' to turn over the engine for a few seconds at a time . ensure that fuel comes out is air and bubble free. Tighten the bleed screw. loosen each injector pipe where it joins to the injector starting with the nearest to the pump first and pump or turn engine until fuel is squirted out in time with the the timeing of that piston. Tighten right away - repeat on the other injector pipes. Now you are ready to start. Some engine need a little help with a squirt of easy start to fire and overcome the small air gap at the top og the injector, some don't. If you have a cold start or excess fuel button use that first and only use easy start as a last resort. BRUUMMMM -(hopefully :)

How do I change the fuel filter on my 3020 John Deere diesel tractor

Leaving the fuel valve on the tank in the on position will allow fuel to run through the line & keep the air purged during removal. On the other side between the pump & the filter, having the new filter topped off & speedily installed will lessen the chance of air entering the line. Once the filter is installed, open the bleed screw at the top of the filter. Just my redneck way.

have you tried cracking the injector lines for air?
if you crack the lines 1 at a time fuel should spay out if nothing comes out after a few moments the injector pump could be bad.
and you did fill the filter before you put it on right.

Just changed the fuel filter on a John deere 1020, is there a way to prime the injector pump?

If the fuel filter is full when replaced it shouldn't be necessary. But if you have access to compressed air, put air to the fuel tank and that will do it. Hope that helps ya.

John deere 2140 had gas put in it instead of diesal what going to happen

Don't run it until you've completely drained and flushed and refilled the fuel system, tank, lines, pump...
Don't run it! Diesel fuel is more of an oil whereas gas is more volitile... Avoid starting or running to prevent any damage to your engine!
