Question about Lexmark Color JetPrinter Z23 InkJet

Lexmark z2300 printer won't pull in paper

My lexmark 2300 won't pull in paper far enough to print anything. It starts to pull in the paper but the paper won't continue to pull in once the actual printing starts. The paper just sits there without moving. The cartridges move back and forth as if printing something but the paper won't pull in.

I have the same problem, but some kind of white powder is appearing
on the internal roller. And now the cartridges won't move to the center
and the green on/off button is flashing. Help!

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Lexmark z2300 keeps printing blank sheets

Try to re-seat the cartridges in the printer. Open the printer cover > remove the cartridges > close the printer cover > re-brick you printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in, and re-plug after 10 seconds. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

If that doesn't help, the problem could be due to a clogged print cartridge nozzle. Please follow the steps below to fix print quality issues with your model:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark 2600 Series folder.
  4. Select Lexmark Solution Center.

From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through to clean the print cartridge nozzles.

My lexmark Z2300 will not feed the paper. The roller in the back (by the paper) does not move. I just changed the black ink. It has also said communication problem when I tried to print. NOW when you...

Disconnect the printer from your pc. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. While the cover is open, check the cartridge area and make sure there are no obstructions in the cartridge carrier's path. Check for any loose transparent strip (encoder strip) behind the carrier. If everything looks fine, close the cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reinsert both cartridges. Close the cover. Reconnect printer to the computer. Try to print again.

My Lexmark Z2300 printer pulls paper in only on 1 side when trying to print. What is causing this?

It could be due to some debris/foreign objects that have accidentally falleninto the paper feed area. 1.Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder. 2.Grab a flashlight and look inside for any debris. 3.If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Anydebris should just freely roll out from the feeder. 4.If feeder is clear, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. 5.Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris that could cause thiserror or problem. 6.If cartridge area is clear, close the cover. 7.Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power outlet to reset it. 8.When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try toprint again.
If problem continues, then it could be some hardware problem in the feeder mechanism.

The printer will no longer print. It sends the job to the printer and after a couple seconds it disappears

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On your "...need CD...", perhaps you could inquire from here. Should downloading the necessary driver(s) for a Lexmark Z2300 be sufficient, have you tried here and click on the 'Downloads' tab.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Paper is getting jammed hence not printing

Sounds like somthing is caught in the left hand side try looking in it with a flashlight and see if you can see somthing stuck like a twistie tie/sticky label/ staple / sticky tape.... If its in far try using a ruler or a few pieces of paper stacked together to dislodge it.

Need to connect printer but don't have disk . My printer is 2300-50

Not sure if this is your printer or not:

http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?lxkprod=Lexmark+Z2300

This is for the lexmark 2300. If this is not your model, you should be able to search for it on that site and download the driver.

Lexmark 4300 not loading paper correctly

Look down the paper feed into the printer you will see one white plastic roller. Find a cotton bud and soak the end in methylated spirits and poke it down and wipe the roller. make sure you wipe the whole circumference of the roller. This removes any grease that has come off the paper onto the roller and allows the roller to grip the paper better. I have done this once and have not had a recurrence of the problem.
