I have a new entertainment center with a new Samsung 40" Flat Screen TV. The entertainment center has touch back lighting that you can turn on by way of a metal touch switch built in the cabinet. Now the problem! With the Flat Screen TV on, and when the program you are watching goes to a commericial. The Tv goes black between the program and commericial as it should for a brief second. During this time, when the Tv goes to the commercial the light in the entertainment center will cycle to the low light setting and come on. At the next commerical during the brief black screen, when the program or commerical comes back on, the entertainment center light will cycle to the medium light level. and so on and so on. I've tried to place the entertainment center light on another outlet, did not correct. I bought a very expensive surge protector and put all electric plugs running throught the surge protector, did not correct. I've tried different types,wattage bulbs, did not correct. Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? It has puzzled me! Need Advise!!!

most probably the fuse inside the circuit blown out, You should open the back of the tv to become circuit board visible. But this hard when novice do it.
To be sure that everything will be alright i would rather suggest you to bring the tv to the nearest service center. maybe warranty work for that.

There are a number of causes. First The T-Con bd has gone bad. Second the Main bd is bad and third the LCD Panel is bad. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the problem

You probably have some bad buffer boards as well as a bad Y-main bd and or a bad X-Main bd. Have a trained samsung tech troubleshoot the set.
