Question about Washing Machines
During a cycle the machine made a grinding noise and when stopped and unloaded there were strips of shredded pale grey plastic in the clothing and around the drum front. Could this be the water seal between the drum and metal housing? The rubber door seal is complete and in tact. Can this be replaced/repaired?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Gowalia, it's going to be a fight without removing the front panel. This is the easiest and not that hard. Remove the top, by removing the 3 screws in the rear. The top will slide off toward the back. Next remove the control panel. Remove the 2 screws on each end on top. Remove the detergent drawer. Remove the torq screws behind the detergent drawer. The control panel will now snap off, pulling from the top and lifting up. Once freed, remove the control panel ribbon cable from the side of the main board. Now remove the screws holding the door switch mechanism in place. Remove the spring that holds the outer part of the boot from the front panel. Now remove the 4 quarter inch screws that hold the front panel and door on the front. Now you can install the new boot with ease. I know it sounds like a lot, but it is not that bad. Just reverse the process when the boot is on the tub. Make sure to have the mark on the boot ^ lined up with the mark on the tub on top. Catriver.

Make sure you are not using to much detergent.
You should be using HE, or High Efficiency Detergent.
And only the amount that the manual for the washer tells you.
To much and it will slowly destroy your Seal and bearing. Plus any rubber or plastic parts it comes into contact with.
Definitely replace this now!!
How old is the washer?
Let me know how you do and the answers about your detergent habits.
Waiting your response.
Thank You Huuum

Probably all parts inside drum is ok.Heating element is the only damageable item and a sensor.Changing bearings you must separate the drum, all screws in middle of drum must out and then bearing and zimmerring can be changed.Jan

SOURCE: Loud noise during spin cycle
is it more like a roar or a train going by? if so your rear tub bearing is going out. very expensive have to replace the tub, basket, spinner ring and shaft and seals about 4 hrs for an exprienced tech to do took me 7 hrs to do for the first time. but it will be very close to $1000 to have done not much less to do it yourself.
