Agitator needs to be disconnected, then tilt machine back disconnect pump and move out of the way. take 3 bolts holding the gearcase out an remove gearcase. Motor does not need to be removed unless you are going to replace the coupler. At the top of the gearcase there are 2 clips that need to be removed and wala, the clutch is easily taken off. reverse procedure, and reinstall gearcase. Be sure to rotate the brake and push up into the bell housing. if the brake comes down at all the gearcase won't reset into place. Good luck. There are detailed pics of this operation on the samurai appliance guru web site.

Transmission slipping

This normally means your clutch is worn down and needs replacement. Much less likely is that the clutch pedal travel needs adjustment.

Replacement of the clutch requires removal of the gearbox and is much easier with a shop hoist. I'd recommend replacing the pressure plate assembly as well.

Unfortunately the problem will need investigating. There must be a problem with the flywheel / clutch assembly or the gearbox itself. The fact that you can move the gear linkage indicates that there is no drive in the gearbox ( ie not turning). The only items that effect this are the clutch / flywheel assembly or the primary shaft in the gearbox.
The gearbox will have to be removed and the above checked.

Where is the clutch located on a mazda rx7 1986? i need too change the clutch since the clutch went out?

The clutch assembly is located inside the 'bell-housing' which is the flared forward section of the gearbox. Hence, the tailshaft and gearbox need be removed to inspect clutch condition.

Hi

If your clutch is slipping the clutch plate is worn out and will have to be changed. This involves engine and gearbox has to be taken out - then the gearbox has to be sperated from the engine to remove the clutch assembly and replace the clutch plate with a new one.

There is no adjustment on this clutch as it is hydraulic and therefore is self adjusting.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.
