Rdjennings10,

It does sound like there could be a power problem with the receiver. The Dish Pro Plus LNB won't cause any issues with that receiver. If the receiver is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, try plugging it directly into the wall. If it is already directly into the wall, try a different outlet if available.

If the problem persists, we will have to replace the equipment. You can reach me at thomas.faust@dish.com to get that taken care of.

I recommend it as the receiver may be non functional for sometime before you receive a new one. Another point to consider is if you purchase a receiver on E-ay there is a good chance that that receiver may have an ooutstanding balance to dish owed by its last owner which will make it useless to you unless you want to pay the bill. 311 run about 99.00 from a reputable dealer and would advise you to pursue that avenue. SOURCE: I have a dish network 211 receiver and the 1000.2

Hi! I will be more than glad to assist you in this concern. Lets check your cable connection first if all is connected hand tight on the back of the receiver, check the sat in connection. once your done, press the menu button on the remote, that is located on the upper left of the remote, once you have the main menu, press 6,1,1 on the remote on it will go to point dish, select check switch on the point dish screen, that is on the upper right of the screen, once you select check switch, it will go to the installation summary, you will see port1-119-ok-1k.2, port2-ok-1k.2 port3-con-1k.2, select test on the butom of the screen, it will run a test up to 3 or 4, it depends on the status of the lnbf, once its done, it will show the whole screen of installation summary, port1-119-ok-1k.2, port2-110-ok-1k.2, port3-129-ok-1k.2, once you see these, the problem is fix and you need to select done and it will go back to the point dish, select done, it will show you an option on the screen, then press 0, 3 times on the remote to exist all the way out, it will go to a pic or it will show attention 015, let the progress fiish and let the programming download finish as well. that will fix the problem, just incase still no 129, please unplug the power of the box from the power outlet for 1minute, plug in then you will see attention 015, press the menu button again from the remote, once you see main menu, press on the remote, 6, 1, 3, check on the field g, 119-green, 110-green, 129-green, if you got 129-green, that fix the problem, in case there is no 129, please call 1-800-333-3474, call the tech support of dish network, ask for a service call and inform them that what you did, sometimes they will ask some information, just answer the question, that is only to verify the steps that you did, If 129 sat orbital location is needed on your programming bcoz you have an hd program or your local package broadcast on 129 sat orbital location, they will setup a service call but if the sat 129 is not needed on your programming they will inform you that you dont have to worry about it. granting its needed, they will setup a service call. if you have the extended warranty plan, the service call is $29 but if you dont have, the fee is $49, the extended warranty plan is $5.99 every month. if you have any query pls feel free to get in touch..

How many coax cables are you using from your dish, 1 or 2? Do you have a switch between the dish and receivers? I am assuming your have a 1000.2 dish since you say you have the 129, 119, 110. On the LNB you have 4 coax ports. Facing the LNB, the port on the far left is for 119, the next is 110, then 129, and that last on the far right is for an additional dish. If you want to get 119 and 110, just use the 2 ports on the left. Once connected, run your check switch. I hope this helps.

Hi mfpayton with the install of the brand new receiver wealways want to make sure all connections are tight. And after all connectionsare hand tight we will need to run the Check Switch Test. It will provide thestrongest signal to your home and you will see the signal move up into the 65percent range. If after the Check Switch Test it still is a low signal we mayneed to check the connections from the Dish and LNB that is an issue we wouldneed to come out on. HOW TO HOOK UP TWO SATELLITE RECIVERS THAT I HAVE LIKE MODEL 4000 DISHJNETWORK RECIVER I FOUND IN MY CLOSET AND MY NEW DISH NETWORK RENTED DVR 625 RECIVER HOW TOO HOOK BOTH OF THEM UP TO THE 3 CABLES AND...

Ok since you have A 625 it uses different technology than the 4000 in a sense but I will assume that whomever connected the 625 use a Dish Pro Plus LNB. You can verify this by going out to the dish and looking at the LNB which is the eyes if you will on the dish. The cover facing you will read DP Plus, or Dish Pro, Dish Network, or you may have nothing at all on the housing. You will want it to say DP Plus for the easiest install.
On this LNB there are three ports. You will only need the two on the left if looking at it so you can not read the housing. One of the ports will be connected to a line running to the 625 and the other to the 4000. The line going to the 4000 should not contain any breaks in it after the ground block if one was used. Once inside the house connect the line from the lnb for the 4000 to the back of the receiver. Conect the receiver to the TV and run a check switch. This receiver will go into a test of 1 of 38 if all connections are good. A 1 of 50 indicates a loss of signal somewher on that side of the install.

The 625 can utilize di plexers but that type of install is to detailed to go into straight away so we will connect it using a straight feed to TV2. Run the cable from the LNB into th room with the 625. Inside connect that line to a siver device called a seperator that came with the receiver and connect the two leads from it to the sat in ports on the back of the receiver. Connect a line to the Home distribution port on the back of the receiver and run it to the room with the second tv you want to have DVR in such as a mater bedroom etc.Connect the cable from the tv out port on the receiver to the tv. Power all devices on and run a check switch. This test should read 1 of 3 if all connections are good. A bad connection will read 1 of 38 on the receiver. A total absence of signal will stay at 1 of 1 for a longt ime brfore going to 1 of 38.

You will need to call dish and activate the 4000 rx since it has not been on the account for some time and will need a software update that they will send to it via satellite.

Other obstacles could arise and if they do let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

Does the dish network 322 receiver require two lines from the satellite to the receiver?

It does require 2 lines form dish unless you have a switch installed such as a dp34 or you have Dish Pro plus LNB"S on your dish and you can use 1 feed to the reciver and use a separator to separate the signal into sat 1 and sat 2 (note: a standard splitter is NOT a separator) a separator is dish brand equipment.

No picture on dish tv

Hello,

The 311 receiver is normall a pretty tough machine. Getting a 70 % signal is normal, and it shouldn't fluctuate too much unless you have something like a tree or other obstacle in the way.

85% of the problems with these older systems is the LNB. I see it all the time.

My first suggestion would be changing the LNB (the eye of the dish). You say that your system is 10 years old, and there are a lot of LNB's out there that go bad over time. It may say that you are getting signal, but the quality may be so poor that the receiver may not know what to do with it.

If you have 2 LNB's (separate eyes) on your dish, then you have two singles or duals with a switch 21. I'd remove these and replace them with a Legacy Twin LNB. If you have a Twin LNB, then replace it with another Twin (especially if it has "lot" number printer in the front of it, these are notoriously bad).

I hope this helps you...

Dish Network - Dish 500 Satellite 110 is not being recognized

You will need a DP or Legacy twin or quad, or DPP twin without using an external switch. If you use Legacy Duals, or DP Duals you will need a switch. USUALLY a SW21 is used to combine the signals but you may have a different one in use if at all.

The primary thing to remember when using a switch is that you must use the same type of LNB as switch e.g. Legacy switches with Legacy LNB's and Dish Pro switches with Dish Pro LNB's.

Check your LNB type. Legacy LNB's have only a Dish Network Logo on them, Dish Pro has DP on them and DPP have DP PLUS on them.

One of three things could be the cause:

1. Line of site. Must be clear of all obstructions to ensure adequate signal.

2. You have a faulty switch, or conflicting LNB and switch, or no switch at all.

3 you may have a bad port on the LNB.

As a fail safe check that your mount is level and plumb. You also may have the dish pointed directly at 119. Check the Skew and elevation settings as well. If LOS IS THE ISSUE YOU MAY NEED TO RELOCATE THE DISH OR REMOVE THE OBSTRUCTION.

In some extreme cases microwave towers and High Voltage lines also pose a problem but doubt this is the case for you.

Hi. I need help finding 119!

I looks like you are picking 110W with the LNB on your left if you are facing the dish.
Try to get 119W first if you connect the cable to the 119 LNB, once you find 119W that way, you will also have 110W.
Good Luck.

Dish 311 won't detect switches

dishnetwork is kind of tricky on the detect switch thing. sometimes if you are having troubles on just one receiver you have to run detect switch over and over again, sometimes as much as maybe 20 or 30 times. if it still doesn't work, hope you have a service plan so they will send you another unit to switch out. also try a different LNB ( low noise block downconverter) and check switch a few times. i know that sounds kind of stupid, but it works sometimes.
