Question about Sony CDX-GT520 FM / AM Receiver
After setting the clock on our new Sony CDX-GT520, the system goes to the clock for a few seconds and then goes to a Sony "ad" where it gives you a complete description of what the radio is and does when the radio/CD/aux in is not on. Then it briefly puts up the clock and goes into the sales pitch again...ad nauseum. It really annoys the heck out of me. I want to see the clock and nothing. Is there anyway to disable the Sony "ad"? It's probably a feature, but I dislike it enough to pull the radio and send it back. If this is not fixable, I guess I won't be putting this radio in my other vehicles...had been thinking about it. Otherwise it works fine.
To remove the ad demo just press and hold the volume knob for a few seconds until the secondary menu appears.
Press the knob repeatedly to get to the "DEMO" item. Turn the knob to change from ON to OFF.
Press and hold the knob for a few seconds to exit the menus.
