Question about Panasonic DMRES15 DVD Recorder

1 Answer

Not an easy one to answer. I seem to be following the instructions, yet I cannot connect my DMR ES15 to my tv. I have the white, red and yellow leads, yet it mentions a blue, green and white lead. Is this the problem? There no request for scart leads so none are attached. There's a freeview box too. Currently I'm still getting tv pictures, but no dvd. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!

Yellow is composite video, the red and white are audio

Blue, green and while are component connections (in US white would be red)

I'm trying to connect my camcorder with the red/yellow/white lead however my lg tv doesn't seem have these sockets to plug into. It has two AV sockets one says rgb the other has two input sockets one

You are probably looking at a component input, which is a high definition set up. Often the red/yellow/white (or composite) inputs on newer TV's are located on the side for easy access. Check both the left and right side of the set to see if thats where they are.

if they are not there, what model LG TV do you have?

How to connect to an analog tv

Try to locate the composite video/audio in(1) and audio (2) out sockets of your tv.
(1): three small round sockets, one yellow, one white, one red (2): two small round sockets, red and white. (only if you want sound from your tv on your marantz receiver)
You will need a composite audio/video cable: 51433a4.jpg
and a composite audio cable: db5db51.jpg

Connect the composite video/audio cable (1):
the yellow lead to MULTI OUT (yellow) the white lead to MULTI OUT (white) the red lead to MULTI OUT (red)
on your tv: connect these cables to the respective yellow, red and white input. (there should be a text like: game in/dvd in/ext in/AV-1/VCR) If all you see at the back is a big socket like this one: 0f41fcb.jpg

you will need a SCART-to-composite adapter, like this:

(2) To get audio from your tv to your Marantz, locate an 'audio out' (red + white round connectors) on your tv, and connect these pins using cable (2) to TV (complete bottom left on your Marantz).

I am trying to play back video from Sony Handycam on tv, the sound is perfect but i have no picture, im sure it must be something simple. i have handycam a/v out attached to the yellow red and white...

Hi,
First remember that the "Yellow" is for video signals the Red and White are for audio.
first connect the camera leads directly to the TV. First yellow connector of camera attach with the "Video in" of Tv and same as Red and White of camera as Audio IN of Tv. And you will both get sound and audio.
Now same as connect the camera connectors Yellow in Video In of the DVD and Red & White For Audio In in the DVD, Now a new lead connect to DVD out Video "yellow pin" to the TV Video IN ans same as Red & Whit in TV IN. By this procedure you will get the Video and Audio from your camera.
     Hope this will help you.
     Thanks.

VHS to Easy capture to computer

The plugs you speak of are called RCA plugs, (Male side has an outside ring with "slots" around the edge, and a pin in the center. Female side has a short round "riser" with a hole in it). You need just standard Audio/Video hookup cables, available at any electronics store.. Walmart/Target/Kmart has them in the TV section. They get plugged into the Audio (Red & White) OUT of the VCR, into the Audio IN (Red & White) of the Easy Capture. The Yellow lead is for Video In/Out between the VCR and Easy Capture. The black is probably the S-Video connector, (round, has very small square hole, surronded by 4, 5, or 7 tiny pin holes) that can be also used to connect video/audio between VCR(if so equipped) and Easy Capture. Get a set of audio/video dubbing cables (abt $10 usually), connect Red to Red, White to White, Yellow to Yellow. Plug the Easy Capture USB cable into your computer (most likely), start the capture program. Start your vcr, hit Play. You should see your vcr tape playing on the computer screen.

No colour when watching dvds ok for everything elese

You will have to make sure you are connecting them with the red and white cables on audio and the yellow on video at both ends, as both your dvd and tv have low def and hi def cabling options.

That means Red and White to Audio at each end and Yellow to video at both ends. If you connect the yellow cable to one of the other three connectors at iether end you will only get black and white as they are meant for a different type of connection.

To get the maximum quality out of your sets you may want to purchase a set of Hi-Definition Component cables which will give you a set of five cables, still red and white for audio but now red, green, blue for video.

Hope this heps a bit more,

Chris
