Finalising means to make the disc read only and allow standard CD/DVD home players play it.
All it does is set the size of the recording and does not affect the TOC.
Check your SBch* setting which should be set to ON or AUTO.

PS - as this is a home hi-fi and not a car-radio, I've moved it from 'Cars & Trucks' to a new home 'Audio Players../Pioneer', where experts in that field can offer more help.

You have to use the Magnavox dual to finalize the discs, and then they should be able to play on other players. I don't have a manual for that exact recorder, but in general you would go to the Settings Menu of the DVD player --> go to Disc Edit --> and then select Finalize - the exact pathway might be a bit different on that particular recorder. Once you have finalized one of your discs, try it on another DVD player and see if it works. Good luck!
The EX75 has only one tuner circuit, so you can't watch a different channel from the one you're recording. To do this you will either need a set-top box for Freeview or a Freeview compatible TV.
I checked in the instruction manual and found out that I had not "finalised: the DVDs that I had recorded. So I reckon that this will solve my problem.
Some DVD players can't read -R & -RW disks. When you finalize make sure it is in Video mode not VR mode so the recorded disk will be able to work in most other DVD players. Also some DVD players only read recorded disks rated up to 1x, 4x, 8x, 16x, or a combination of these speeds.
