Question about Dell Latitude E6410 Notebook PC - Intel Core i5 i5-520M Dual-core 2.40 GHz - 3 MB - 14.1" Active Mat (4689011)
Suddenly the charger seems to have died. When I connect it to my laptop it doesn't charge, and the light that shows that the charger is connected to electricity doesn't light up. Is this a normal thing? Could it be that somebody did something to it? Also like to know if it is fixable or do I need to get a new one
A new charger costs not so much. If you spend a lot of time on other things, why not replace a new laptop adapter? So just purchase a new adapter from online store to examine it:

SOURCE: Dell c640 charging problems.
Instead of spending alot of time trying to do something that could potentially harm your laptop..why not just buy a power supply?
You can get one here Click here for about 16 dollars. That's a great deal they are usually about $60 and its a Dell brand not some off brand.

Try this: remove the battery and unplug the power, hold down the power button for 10 seconds, then plug the power back in, and try turn it on again. If this doesn't work, check the power plugin port, if anything in there is moving around, it might be broken and need to be repaired. Check for a local electronics or computer store for that. The only other problem I can think of is that the motherboard died, probably from over-heating. This usually requires a new laptop, or an equivalent price for a new motherboard. Good luck, I truly hope the first one works.

However if there is voltage on the pins then check the voltage on the battery terminal pins in the laptop. If absent then the motherboard is faulty.
you need to use a multimeter to check and track the path of the voltage/current to confirm the area of fault in the charging section.
