And nothing will happen. Do not PERFORM BIOS UPDATE unless strictly necessary. Do not perform BIOS UPDATE without CHARGER plugged in and be sure you have enough power for 10 minutes. NOW... If you are lucky, in service they will be able to REWRITE your BIOS. Check HP website for service in your area. If not, your motherboard will have to be replaced. Good luck. Keep us informed of the results.

If computer SHUT DOWN while reading BIOS FILES you might have a little chance to repair it. Unplug battery. Charger must not be connected. Press POWER for 30-40 seconds. Plug back battery. Press power. And pray before this.
IF this will not repair it... the two options described before will...

SOURCE: Up dated Bios

first make sure you have the correct file, then you need to make sure you know how to do that. A botched "flash" will ruin your entire system. also take out the battery and only use the power cord.

SOURCE: bios update

Hello!!

I am not sure after installing which update the display has gone. I mean Windows update or HP software update or BIOS update.

Let me take the senario of the BIOS update and assist you in this regard.

If the display has gone after installing the BIOS update, then the issue cases are 1. Installed wrong BIOS update 2. Notebooks might have restarted or hanged while installing the BIOS update.

In both the cases BIOS will get currupt and there will be no display on the notebook.

Solution for the issue is: If you notebook is under warranty, HP will arrange for mail-in repair, plss contact HP. If the notebook is out of warranty, then you need to contact HP authorized service center.

The # 443694-001 refers to the cd set. You need to know which DV9000 you have. On this link you will see all the DV9000 models.:
http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=us&cc=us&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R163-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=DV9000+443694-001&submit.x=6&submit.y=4

You will need to use a friend's computer for the following.

Once you find the correct firmware, You can make a bootable CD by using Nero or Roxio burning software, these are the most common on computers nowaday.Once you make the bootable CD, you will have to set your laptop to boot from the CDROM. Then boot the CD you made and run the firmware update.
I don't believe you would be able to get a USB flash drive to boot in this condition.
Good Luck
You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Somehow it seems that updating adobe crashed your operating system. Take battery out. Keep pressing power for 30 seconds. Reinstall battery. Press power again. If problem persists check to see boot order in bios and test hdd for failure. Post here results

The computer system has been currupted from the update performed. usually the program from which an update is performed has to be compartible to the already existing on computer. In the sitiation where the computer is recognises similar program least attaining a complete installation currupts the entire prior existing system. Usually the computer hardwares aer still functional only requires to acqiuire the manufacture default as the only system that can restore the condition. Alternately, depending on the available programs, an entire list of hardware would make restoring the computer. Refer to a computer technician the evaluate the conditon from which restore is attainable. Also, refer from the computer user guide to attain the manfacturers details from where suport is deriveable. Conditions that has caused the entire computer loose functionality that is within guarantee or warantee is replaceable rather than repairs. Consult with the products manufacturer with the contact details provided to operator or owner prior to attain an alternate technicians expertise.

My brother tried to do a BIOS update. I dont know but something probably went wrong during the process and now, all my computer does is power on, no display, it wont even show the POST screen..

Firstly, BIOS updates are precarious at best (especially for older computers and is not a decision to be taken lightly. They are rarely worth the risk.
Here is are some links that "MAY" help you recover from "failed BIOS updates or flashes".
WARNING!!!
Flashing or attempting to recover your BIOS should be done by a professional. I do not urge or endorse the use of these techniques, have no affiliation with the writer(s), and cannot be held accountable for failure. Again...this should be done professionally!!
That being said, I wish you success either way. You may have to copy and paste or type the first one.

My acer aspire one 532h-2db blank screen but the power is on. please help me! thanks.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting Fixya. This is Anil.

I understand that the Netbook starts but there is not display on the screen.
It may happen due BIOS failure on the computer. Try updateing the BIOS. Updating the BIOS will require a USB flash drive to store the BIOS information on during the update. To perform the update to the BIOS:
Go http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/ and download the latest BIOS for the netbook.
Extract the files from the downloaded zipped BIOS file.
In the Dos folder, Copy Flash.Bat; Flashit.exe; Nav50.fd to the USB flash drive
Ensure that the AC adapter is plugged in.
Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port.
Press and Hold down the Fn and the Esc keys together and press the power button.
When the unit's power light comes on wait a few seconds and release the Fn and Esc keys.
After the keys have been released the power light will start to blink.
During the BIOS update process the display will be blank.
Let the unit run and after approximately 1 to 7 minutes, the unit should reboot and the BIOS will be updated.
If the unit fails to reboot, or the BIOS was not updated sucessfully, try the steps again. If the unit continues to fail to reboot, the unit may need service.

I believe the above resolution should resolve the issue, however, if the issue still persists, please contact us. We will be glad to help you.

Thank you. Have Great Day.

Regards,
Anil.B.R

My power went when installing update for bios now it turns on but no screen.

I wish I had better news to give you, but I am fairly certain the Asus mainboard will need to be replaced. The computer Bios is the first set of instructions your computer uses recognize its hardware and perform is initial operations. A power failure while writing new instructions to the bios chip means the computer has incomplete and corrupted basic operation instructions.
What is crucial is how complete the bios update was before the power was interrupted. Without a display, its nearly impossible to tell - or attempt a bios reinstall. Losing power while performing a BIOS flash is a catastrophic scenario. The only way you could lose power on a net book or laptop computer is to have a dead or missing battery and suffer a power outage or ac disconnect during the procedure.
If the computer is still under warranty, you can try exchanging it with the retailer or RMA through Asus. I wouldn't mention however how the computer became unusable, that will likely void your warrnaty and disqualify you for an exchange.
I wish I could do more to FixYa, but this is just one of those critical issues that kill a pc. PIf you found this information helpful, please leave me some feedback.

The bios update failed on my 4g asus eeepc

What you need to do is to get the manual for the motherboard os you can reset the BIOS. On the other hand, you may not be able to preform that. This model is like a netbook and try this, remove the battery and the power cord. give it 15min. put the battery back in and reboot the system and than the power cord. that should help. if not, than a tech person is your next step.

you need to find the firmware you had before the update and downgrade it again, you can perform the downgrade using a cd with firmware on it, make sure you have a look on the sony website for instructions on performing a manual upgrade (should be the same process as downgrade)
