Question about Samsung TL100 Digital Camera
It has been in the case sitting for bout 8 months I took it out to charge it and nothing. It doesn't even beep 3 times like I have been reading they do when there is something wrong with the lens. I get absolutely nothing. Can this be the battery?
If you haven't used it for the last 8 months and before it was all fine then the most common reason would be the battery. Your battery is absolutely dead but then again if you plug it to AC then it must show some sign of life. But give it a go by replacing new battery. To check get it from a friend and then test the camera on it.
If the battery replacement doesn't work then take it to an authorized dealer for inspection.

If the camera is older sometimes the battery brakes down after starting as the motor for the lens needs a lot of power as the starting of the lcd does. Had a similar problem with a different camera. I tried a friends battery and suddenly all worked fine.

Everytime I try to turn it on, the lens comes out for about a second, the camera beeps 3 times, the lens retracts and the camera shuts off. The battery is completely charged and the camera is only 4 months old. HELPP :(

SOURCE: I have a samsung S500 and when I turn it on the lens doesn't open or extend and it will beep 3 times and shut off. I have tried new batteries and nothing works. I took it to a camera shop and they
Well, have you ever considered that the lenses MIGHT be defected? If it's true, you can send it back to the manufacturer, as long as it wasn't YOU who made it defected.
Another tip, is maybe the lens isn't made for that type of camera.
Lastly, the lens can just be broken, so you should carefully examine it, and see INSIDE of it, to make sure all of the parts are their. Hope this helps (:
