SOURCE: Replaced radio with one from same model year. Displays Err 01.
this generally means the laser is either dirty or the cd player is shot, err 01 is a disc reading problem. Try cleaning lens with cleaning disc first if this does not help i would replace the unit with another. i would recommend replacing it with a cheap aftermarket stereo.

look for a small hole normally on the facia,put a small screwdriver inside and press the reset button.hope this helps.

this model radio came out in 1999 and 2000 subaru outback and heritage. the only manual is the owners manual that came with the car.. if you have one id love a copy of the radio guide. ill pay costs. thanx
