A few important bits of information about using faults and fixes on usb drives

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem
check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts

click start control panel administrive tools computer management disk management right click on your drive select properties click tools you should see

click check now click start two boxes automatically fix files and scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors place then a tick in one box then select check now start or you might tick one box then return after its finished the first repair then return and tick the second box

(I have found better results ticking the first box then reurn and tick the second box) you should not do anything while the chkdsk utility is in progress any input may damage this drive

also you might need to do this

click start click to open on my computer you should see your usb drive F: right click select properties there will be an array of options select the sharing tab option then advanced sharing

permissions make sure you have a tick in the share this folder box then click permissions make sure all three boxes are ticked you full control change and read in windows 7

click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP
also
If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:
click start right click on my computer select open

Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F: / E: or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up
Click the Sharing tab
Click permissions
And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

if you need more help with this post a reply
hope this helps

The short answer to your question is "Yes" however, all information on the drive would be lost. As a work-around, store/move more information to the D: volume. Perhaps install any new software programs to D: rather than C:

SOURCE: my pen drive is of

Insert the USB stick in your computer, then go to "Start" then "My Computer", locate the USB icon and right click and select "Properties". From there you can do a format of the stick. This will erase all the data including some hidden files that you might have and solve the problem.

Note that even though it says 2Gb, the data you can use is slightly less. This is true for any storage device out there.

Startup disk is full on Mac. How to clean it?

The OS X flashes the message 'Startup disk is almost full' when your OS drive (boot disk) is out of free spaces. Though it is not a major issue but its solution should be made asap.

You can make some quick free spaces through below tips/tricks

1) Empty Your Trash
2) Lighten your Download folder by removing unnecessary downloads
3) De-Clutter your Desktop
4) Empty Caches
5) Empty Logs
6) Lighten your Dashboard
7) Get rid of unwanted apps

Since your hard drive is large (1 TB), I recommend you use free clean up Mac software in order to get rid of garbage from your Macintosh HDD. You can free clean up your Mac with Stellar Speedup Mac tool.

When the drive is plugged in, empty the recycle bin or trash can on the computer. It may still being seeing used space because the files are technically still there. they don't really go away till you empty that recycle bin.

New DVD shows free space as 0 in my DVD drive.Although it allows me to copy on it.

Use DVD burning software like Nero or Roxio to check if DVD disc is empty as windows may not recognize the empty space of disc, if issue persists - update the firmware of the DVD drive, you need to contact drive manufacturer to obtain the updated firmware.

Cannot copy items to flash drive because not enough space but flash drive has been emptied of all contents

Have you formatted the flash drive?

Go to My Computer and right click the flash drive (make sure you select the correct drive, as all data will be deleted)

Choose Format and that will completely remove all data.

Acer 5315 HD C is full HD D empty

Very likely the answer is yes, IF: 1) there is enough space and 2) that D drive is not being used for something else. Check on what is on the D drive. It's usually reserved by the manufacturer and contains OS restore files (used for restoring your system after a crash). Don't delete these, but if there is enough free space, just create a new folder and put your files in there.

Pen drive display free space 0 byte and used space also 0 byte

Try formatting the drive. Assuming Windows XP, just open your "my computer" icon, right-click on the device and choose format. Be aware, formatting will remove any data you may have had on there previously.

If you're using another OS, or if it's an existing drive, please re-state your question giving further details (what OS, what you are trying to retrieve, etc).

Windows asking me to format my flash drive

Just format your flash drive! Before you start formatting your flash drive, transfer all data from your flash drive 'cause when you format your flash drive, it will erase all the data. After you have formatted the flash drive, then you can transfer back the data to your flash drive.
