SOURCE: Consew 206RB, threading problem?

This machine has a safety clutch which is designed to protect the hook mechanism. To access it, place the machine on it's back. About 8-10 inches from the right side you will see an assembly on the main shaft. You need to hold this assembly with a push button located on the bed of the machine while you turn the handwheel. It will click in place when it is in the correct position. Once you've done this the machine should be back in time so it will sew.Hold the top thread ,turn the handwheel and draw the bottom thread up before you begin sewing. Place a piece of fabric under the foot , turn the wheel by hand to make sure there is no binding and that the thread is being picked up.

SOURCE: Thread loops

Proper set of bobbins and tension set up vs. fabrics will sew you satified. Also incude regular maintenance cleaning of the feeds dogs with a brus, also the shuttle assembly need sometime to clean. Some threads and fabrics chips accumulates in the feed dogs and shuttles assembly. In setting up thread bobbins the thread should be clockwise direction as you pull out on slot coming out to the bobbins (as you shown in my inserted image manual). The loop thread should be propely in the sequence position same like in the image refer to it.If you use cotton/ polyester fabric in the begining of trial set tension dial to No.3 and stich to No. 8 to 12 any convenient to you Use needle No. 14 .Posible make a record if you are sewing different types of fabric mostly silk fabric is hard to sew adjusting to lower stich can posible sew satisfactory.

SOURCE: consew 206rb-1 thread was caught in the boobin area i removed

Had the same problen today, Remove your bobbin, the part where the bobbin is in should move a little, if it does not you have string you can not see behind that part. To get it out turn the machine backwards, it will really turn hard, but will turn, do this until you can see the thread come out or until the piece that holds the bobbin will move a little. good luck

What needles do you use for a Consew 206RB-5 for topstitching jeans very heavy cotton thread? The new designer top stitch. and Can you??Helplindablake@cfl.rr.com

Hello Linda, The information I have on the Consew 206RB-5 is that it is a walking foot machine that has a needle system 135X17 also known as DPX17. Needles in that class range in size from 80/12 (narrowest) to 180/24 (widest) However, They do make larger sizes up to 200/25 in a leather point. Keep in mind, the smaller the needle size, the smaller the needle eye is. I make truck tarps out of 18 ounce heavy vinyl. I use a 140/22 size needle with a 138 size thread. As to what you are sewing, I think a midrange size such as 120/19 or 125/25 will do for you. It also depends on the size of thread you use. Good luck, I hope this helps you.

Needle does not pick up thread from the bobbin

Make sure you are using the correct needle type for your machine.also ensure that the needle is in the right way round (ie the long groove faces to the left and the needle scarfe/ cut-away faces to the right. Please check that you have threaded the machine correctly if you can not pick up a stitch after these have been checked then it is quite possible that the machine timing is out and will have to be reset by a mechanic.

My bobbin isn't letting the needle pick up the thread?

Are you using the correct needle for this machine? The bobbin drive may be out of time with the needle drive--a trip to your local service agent should fix that. Make sure the bobbin carrier and hook is undamaged.

Consew 206rb bending needle

I have three possible solutions:
1. If sewing on heavy fabric or thru several layers, change needle to a larger size.
2. Make sure to let the fabric feed by itself, don't pull on it.
3. Make sure the upper thread is not catching on something (like the end of the spool), this will cause the needle to bend and break.

good luck!
