Question about Car APS921 Remote Starter - Keyless Entry

Open Question

I have a Pursuit system and antenna is bad. Box under dash has model 136-1821.

Is there a replacement available? I have PROOE48s 4 button remotes (ELVATOE) and would like to keep them if possible. Thanks.

Have no idea what this is

Depending on the "brain box" used, this fob can lock/unlock doors, unlock trunk, and remotely start the car. the * button is used for the remote start....OR can be used to arm/disarm a security system. Only way to tell is to try the buttons and see.
Also, some are wired so that first you must hit the door lock button, then the remote start * button. Also may need to push * button twice to get the remote start to engage.
Somewhere - likely under the dash near steering column or ignition switch is the brain box. Give us the model numbers off that box and I can tell you a lot more about what it does.

Check the hood pin switch. It's located under the hood around the edge of the engine compartment. It's designed to make contact with the hood when the hood is closed. Also, check for a remote start shutdown toggle switch under the dash.

I bought my car used with an aftermarket prestige alarm w/ remote start. Battery and alternator went bad. They have been replaced. The car will not turn on and alarm remote is not working.

Locate a black push button switch under the dash or near the drivers side kick panel (older model), or the alarm has a push button LED light(newer model) or the Valet switch is in the antenna(newest model). Turn the ignition on, press and release the switch one time. This should disarm the alarm.

For programming: turn ignition on, press and release the valet switch three times: you will hear one chirp from the alarm, press the lock button on the remote. Press and release the valet one time, you will hear two chirps from the alarm, press the unlock button on the remote. Repeat as necessary. Turn igniton off to exit programming. Test remote for proper functioning.

It has quit working. The fob/remote has a good battery in it. I checked the receiver by the antenna and it is plugged in. Cannot find the button under the dash. Over the phone they said that it was not...

yes, there are two fuses on the main wiring harnesses for the remote start brain. also try reprogramming the transmitters:
1. Turn key to ignition position (ON) 2. press and release programming button (you will need to locate this in your vehicle, ask your installer where this was placed; it can normally be found under the driver's side of the under-dash) 3. press and hold programming button 4. while holding programming button, press lock on each transmitter one at a time. 5. Turn key off and remove, test transmitters.

I have an identical prestige remote which is not programed for my car iwould like to program it exatly like the one i now use so i can have a spare.

The programming procedure for Prestige/Pursuit remote is as follows:
First, locate the programming/valet switch. For newer model units the programming switch is located in the antenna, previous models have a push button LED (PBLED). Older models have a plain black push button, usually located near the driver's side kick panel (where your left foot would rest when driving).
After locating the programming switch; turn ignition on, press and release switch three (3) times, parking lights will flash once. This is channel 1 (lock button). Press lock button on remote. Parking lights flash once. Press and release switch one (1) time. Two flashes (channel 2). Press unlock button on remote. Press and release switch one (1) time. This is Channel 3 (trunk/remote starter), press the channel three button on remote. Repeat process for additional channels. Once you have programmed all available channels, turn ignition off to exit programming.

My viper remote, no matter what button I push on it just beeps and an icon that looks like a antennae flashes but nothing happens.

Try this first, unplug the 2-way antenna on your windshield. Let it sit for at least a few minutes. Try recoding the remotes after you replug the antenna back in. This is an issue i have seen on some of the Viper units. Usually they never have issues, but here and there they need reset.

I have the AM6 remote starter and the range went to ****.

If this is a new occurrence, in other words, just started doing this, then it may not be the remote, especially if both remotes do the same thing if you have 2.

There may be a problem with the antenna wire. When these boxes get installed, usually the antenna wire is usually run up the pillar that is in between the window and the driver door. If for some reason it fell down in there then it may not be getting signal.

likewise if it has been doing this since day one, the problem may be the antenna is not up some where so it can get signal.

You will have to find the control box. It will be either under dash some were, or behind the driver side kick panel.

Hopefully its just the antenna wire is not in an ideal location. If it is not, try to snake it upward behind the dash, ideally up the pillar between the door and windshield.

If you only have one remote, and not a second one, there could be something wrong with the remote. There is also the slight possibility that the battery you bought was bad.
