It seems that your Internet download is fine but the issue is with the uploading. Try to switch of the router for few min. Remove all the cables out and press the Power button for 10 to 15 sec and replug the cables Check the internet connection. You can find the wireless security password by accessing the router'sadmin page http://192.168.0.1 (username is admin and password is password) then go to the wireless security tab.There you can find the password or WEP key (10-digit code). If you can't login to the router'sadmin page, you can reset the router by pressing the reset button atthe back of it for 20 seconds then power cycle the router by turning itoff for 10 seconds.
if you go to the netgear site, and get to the section for your model, you may want to update the firmware. this may solve most of the problems. you can also read what the latest firmware fixes. it should give info on the entire firmware history.
Someone have, most likely, allready had the router connected to the internet, - and registered it, then changed his mind and returned it to the shop.
You do the same, - no repair is needed, you just want a NEW router.
