Question about Pioneer PD-F505 CD Player

2 Answers

PD-F505 My CD player picks up the CD then says no disk. It doesn't matter which way the CD is in or what location it is in. I took off the top and it looks like the mechanism needs to close on the CD to spin it, and it isn't doing that. It picks up the Cd and then brings it back and says no CD. Help Please. Roxanne

I cleaned the laser manually. and it still isn't recognizing the CD & will not close on and spin the CD. I always thought the laser started after the cd is spinning? Anyway maybe I didn't make myself clear. I have the top off the player so you can see the cd being picked up and pulled into the mechanizm and it sits for a second and then is placed back in the rack. It looks like the mechanism should close on the CD and then spin it. And that is not happening. Any other suggestions??

If closing the tray will not bring the optical lens assembly up prior to spinning, the belt may be worn.

if you could see the lens go up and produces a red laser beam when the cd is in place but the disc won't spin, it's the laser lens that is the fault. Lens could be replaced.

Try a lens cleaning cd,if this doesnt work is more than likely optic (laser) faulty as laser has to focus first before spinning disc.if it cannot focus disc will not spin..

My 2001 RCA 5 CD Disc Player won't open and makes a continuous motor sound. I thought a cd was stuck, I took the top cover off and removed the offending disk. However the problem remains. The player

Five disc players often develop indexing problems. While you have the top cover off, first read and heed the laser warning then you can watch the mechanism spin around merrily trying in vain to find a home position. You also can insert a disc in a random position (say number 1) and watch it be unable to locate the disc and display the location correctly.

A disk is stuck in my Harmon Kardon player. The door will open and close and I can see the disk but cant' get it out.

turn on the unit and then tried to press the play button while the cd tray is in place. if doesn't work, unplug the dvd player then open the cover to access the internal part. look for a broken limit switch for cd tray mechanical assembly or check weather the cd not in proper place in the tray that is why an error occur.

Cd player wont accept cd.s says load error

pull the player out but leave it connected. when you push the eject button, lightly tap on the top of the cd player, if there is one jammed, you may want to consider just getting a new cd player, it may do the same to your cd!

No lights on cd/dvd

the part you are missing is going into your computer's bios to change the boot sequence to CD/DVD first so that it would read the dvd. The current setting is probably network since you are seeing the PXE failure

How do I format a CD-R in windows xp

Unless your using a program you don't really format a CD-R, sometimes you erase a CD-RW but if your looking to put data on a disk you insert your blank disk and then you can go to then disk and put files to be copied on the disk, Then you run the windows write to disk wizard. it is located under FIle and says " Write these files to CD " You can also burn music with windows media player by selecting the copy to CD or Media device or by selecting the Burn tab on the top of the media player on newer versions of windows media player.

Eclipse cd player needing instilation disk

I don't know about any installation disk, but you may have to enter in a security code in order to get it to work again.  The manufacturer of the unit would have to be contacted to get that info.
