SOURCE: Will not shred, but makes clicking noise, will run in reverse

Possible that the actuator which feeds paper in has gotten affected. With the unit UNPLUGGED try looking to see if some paper has gotten wedged in there. If you can disassemble it you might be able to see the problem. Good Luck.

SOURCE: we have a Fellowes Powershred C-220C and the

Only if you are mechanically handy and know how to take a part. Most of these shredder's sensors are PLASTIC and break EASILY. I should know, I had to take apart my wife's shredder.

I had to bypass the sensor and rewire it. It can be done if you know what you are doing. If not, don't try it

In your case I would unscrew the top assembly. Than I would use a can of canned air to clean out the sensor eye. Than I would use tweezers to pull out all specks of paper I could find.

Your best bet is to try to return it for a replacement.

SOURCE: fellowes 3011001 shredder stopped shredding. tried

First, try switching to reverse, alot of times, stuck paper will come back out in reverse. Then unplug the unit, turn the head upside down and with a small flathead screwdriver, knife, or tweezers, dig out pieces of paper. It takes alot of effort but by digging small pieces out, a little at a time, you can get most of the paper free.

Hi, make sure the cutters are not jammed with paper. To reset turn the unit to reverse for 2 seconds then auto then off. Allow to cool for 25 minutes then retry. Also make sure the base is locked in properly. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

I was shredding paper when it started making a loud grinding noise and wouldn't accept any more paper. I've tried running it back and forth, but it only goes, maybe half way, either way, and it still...

This is a very common problem. Go out to the hardware store and buy some silicone spray. With the shredder unplugged, spray a good amount of the silicone inside all of the teeth and try to get all sides.

Plug it back in and work it back and forth a few times. It should work better with less noise now.

Need a sensor switch for fellows powershred 220. Won't sense paper.

The top sensors may be bad or even the main board that they are connected to is bad. Try cleaning them with a lightly moistened swab or compressed air. Fellowes will sell you the parts.
