Possible that the actuator which feeds paper in has gotten affected. With the unit UNPLUGGED try looking to see if some paper has gotten wedged in there. If you can disassemble it you might be able to see the problem. Good Luck.

Only if you are mechanically handy and know how to take a part. Most of these shredder's sensors are PLASTIC and break EASILY. I should know, I had to take apart my wife's shredder.
I had to bypass the sensor and rewire it. It can be done if you know what you are doing. If not, don't try it
In your case I would unscrew the top assembly. Than I would use a can of canned air to clean out the sensor eye. Than I would use tweezers to pull out all specks of paper I could find.
Your best bet is to try to return it for a replacement.

First, try switching to reverse, alot of times, stuck paper will come back out in reverse. Then unplug the unit, turn the head upside down and with a small flathead screwdriver, knife, or tweezers, dig out pieces of paper. It takes alot of effort but by digging small pieces out, a little at a time, you can get most of the paper free.
