    Perhaps you can supply more information:how does the computer connect to the internet...via a landbased ADSL modem? a wireless MODEM? cable link?...and is THAT working (ie can other computers connect to the internet?)...also, think back to when the problem on your computer started & what you changed (or upgraded) around that time?

I would check to make sure you don't have viruses or anything of that sort. I recommend trying any one of these (free) programs (but don't use them all, as you'll have issues between them):http://free.avg.com/us-en/homepage - AVG is a pretty solid company and has been around for a while
http://www.avast.com/en-us/index - Avast! is one of my personal favorites.

Run their security suites and see if it picks up anything. If you've got viruses then there's more to it than these will be able to help and you may need to talk to a specialist. Chat me back and I can help you more with that.
Hope this helps, and don't forget to rate me.Thanks.

Subject: No wireless connection from router cannot connect to the Internet.
Solutions: Straight Connection, Windows Connecter and Microsoft Fixit

Discussion: I'm going to provide you with three solutions and between them you should get online. However, you should be advised that in order to fully analyze and correct any difficulties you're having, we should be chatting or on a telephone connection. All I really know at this point is that you can't connect to the Internet through your router.

I'm going to give you three FREE general fixes and let's hope that one of them will work for you. If not, then we have to chat.

Now, let's see if I can help you.

The first solution I'm suggesting works in my business (LAN installations) about 95% of the time. I trust that it will work for you.

Begin by turning on your computer and your router

? Make sure your service provider has activated your account and services on the subscribed line. Please check with your service provider to confirm this.
? Make sure that you are using the latest drivers. You can download the latest driver from Driver Downloads Database.
? Make sure that you have entered the right username and password (case-sensitive) as given by your service provider. For example, in Australia: user@bigpond; in NZ: user.name.xadsl@xtra.co.nz.
? Open Internet Explorer;
? Click on 'Tools';
? Click on 'Internet Options';
? Click on 'Connections';
? Click on 'Setup'
? Click on 'I want to set up my Internet connections manually . . .';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'I connect through a local area network (LAN);
? Clock on 'Next'
? Click on 'Next' [This is not an error];
? Click on 'No';
? Click on 'Next';
? Click on 'To connect to the Internet immediately . . .; and,
? Click on 'Finish'.

That should have you online.

However, if the first solution doesn't get you connected, do the following:
• Click on tools again.
• Click on 'Diagnose Connection Problems'
• and follow the instructions.

The second suggested solution is to use the Setup Wizard. It seldom works for me but you might have more luck than poor me. Here are the instructions:

The Connect to the Internet wizard will guide you through the steps of setting up an Internet connection.

Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by:

• Clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button
• Click on Control Panel.
• In the search box, type network,
• Click "Network and Sharing Center"
• Click Set up a new connection or network
• Then double-click "Connect to the Internet".

The third solution requires an Internet connection. I'm going to pass on to you a FREE and hard to believe program from Microsoft called Microsoft Fixit! I have no idea why this little program hasn't been advertised but then I don't own their stock.

Just click on the following link and your problem should be solved: Download Microsoft's Fixit

You'll see the following areas in which Microsoft Fixit can solve software , hardware and just about every other problem you may incur. They are:

Top Solutions Windows Internet Explorer Windows Media Player

Entertainment Office Other

I suggest that you try top solutions and 'automatic' before exploring the other titles.

Be a hero and fix your friends' computers; just don't tell them how you did it! That will be our little secret.

2 things to look at 1st, do you have the latest version of Flash on your computer. 2nd how is your
connection do you have good connection speeds. Also run your virus/antispyware software and
check your system. If you don't have one of these check out Adaware by Lavasoft.

Couldnt play games on facebook now it says no server

This occurs as a result of slow internet connection, or unresponsive server host. You should get a better modem, if possible a broadband, in order for your system to load sufficient kilobytes per time, for you to play games on facebook. However, if you feel your connection is fast, you can download and install mozilla firefox from 'www.brothersoft.com'. After downloading it, you go to tools/options link, then click 'advanced'. Furthermore, you click the settings button, in this menu set to use 'system network'. Apply the settings, then restart firefox. Make sure your internet connection is already running before you reopen firefox. If you are able to get these steps correctly, I guess your problem is solved

Hi, im using a brand new acer asprire x1800 desktop..and i can HARDLY connect to the internet using SUN BROADBAND (lan connection already disabled). i have been using the broadband for a few months now....

There could be several possibilities for your internet connection to slow, or stop functioning. Here is a small list of things to check:

1) Run Spybot Search & destroy:
This is a program that will help you find, and eliminate malware, it's free from Here. It also helps speed your PC up by removing unwanted malware that can drain your system's resources.

2) Check your scheduled tasks to determine nothing is set to run during these " down " times.

3) Check to make sure any wireless connections are secured using WEP or other such wifi security. It's a little known fact that people will " pigy-back " on someone's wifi connection to use the internet and download. this can cause internet instability.

4) Call your Internet Service Provider. Your ISP can usually help you determine if the problem is with your computer or their connection.

5) Check your network settings. Your ISP can help you determine the best settings for your connection, as well you may check to see if the network device has an updated driver from the manufacturer.

6) If all else fails, you may wish to take your PC to a licensed technician, or replace the network device if you feel it is faulty.

In my experience most internet instability that happens on a regular basis during a set amount of time is due to malware, or scheduled downloads.
