If both the remote (which can be tested by a shop for free) AND the front buttons do not work I suspect the unit may have a lock out that disables everything on both except for on off..........

Hi have just bought a panasonic blu ray player model dmp-bd77 here in australia we have put in a b/ray dvd from the usa that plays perfectly but when we have put in another american dvd(not blu ray a...

Every blu ray or dvd player sold in the world comes as standard unlocked to play any disc from any region. On the fifth play of a disc the DVD or Bluray will become locked to that region. So if you play 5 USA dvd's on the player after the fifth disc has been played only US dvd's will be recognised by the player, Same applies to BLUrays. So if i were you i would be careful about what discs you are putting in the player. Otherwise you will be left with a bluray player that cannot be used in Australia. After that happens the only way to play other region discs would be to get the player unlocked. Another point to add , a blueray player has two lasers one to play bluray and another to play DVD's. Lasers can fail so you could be able to play DVD's but not Bluray or vice versa depending on which laser has failed.

Akai dvdplayer dvps760 won't turn of/on nor will the ejectiob mechanism work with remote control. All other dvd functions work with remote

Hello
Check the remote contro for infrared light radiation, when you press eject and power buttons. If there is no such infrared light rays, your remote need cleaning. If there is infrared rays emits, and still the player wont eject the disc inside, check its loader mechanism
To know how to clean the remote control, get into my blog. Type in "electronicshelponlin(dot)blogspot(dot) com" in the address bar of your borwser, and press enter to get in to the blog. Just put (.) in pace of (dot), I've specified here.

I have a Panasonic Blue Ray DVD player model number DMP-BD75 and I cannot play a DVD that has a zone 2 (Europe) format. Is there a code that I can get to allow me to watch this DVD

Unfortunately there is not. The reason they put the restrictions on the player is to restrict and prevent illegal distribution. I am sure you got it totally legally, but that is just the way the system works. If you have a blue ray drive in your computer you can rip the blue ray and re burn it onto a disk that will play in any region you want.
