Question about Tyco Toys
This is a Santa Fe Tyco/Mantua train (labeled on the bottom tyco/mantua) The motor works but I cannot find a wiring diagram to put it back together properly. I had one motor that did not work. I found a second motor that only worked if I put direct leads to the motor. I believe that it stopped working when the bulb went out. I made a mistake and had removed everything including the wire that was soldered to the body electronic board. I'm just confused as to where that wire will go and what leads do I need to go to the Light (I have a brand new 16v incandescent bulb). If anyone can help me with this issue it would be much appreciated. Sincerely Jacob H.

Use a tiny amount of light weight oil (sewing machine oil will work) on the outsides of the motor shaft,., Use a tooth pick to apply. Of cours you'll need to remove the plastic body first. Another suggestion if that doesn't take care of the noise is to place a tiny bit of vasoline on the gears that are exposed when you take the plastic boy off. While your doing that you may want to place some vasoline on the gears inside the driving truck or trucks (dual drive). Pay attention when removing the plastic bottom covers from the truck. Use a small screw driver to pry one end of that cover loose and the other becomes loose and then remove to expose the gears.

Check the engine and transformer by taking the two wires from the transformer and, while holding the engine upside down put on wire against one side wheels and the other wire on the other sides wheels...that will tell you if the engine is at fault.
