Question about BFG Technologies GeForce 7800 GTX OC, (512 MB) PCI Express Graphic Card

1 Answer

Graphics card Was wondering if the 7800 would still be able to play most of the games out there.. Since I'm wanting to get a few, and I want to know if they'll work before I acutally get them. You have MSN or something where we could talk a bit faster?

Yeah, the 7800 is like 350.. And that's the smaller one? That makes no sense to me at all.. So buying a smaller one is more expensive than a bigger graphics card?

  • xDrewx Jan 03, 2009

lol, sorry, got one more question dude! Think a EVGA e-GeForce 7600GS 512 MB PCIe Video Card with Fan would be good enough for the games as well? its a bit more cheaper!

Yes smaller doesn't necessarily mean worse it could be higher in memory or something but still be smaller.

yes that would work I actually use a GeForce fx5200 with 128MB PCIe which works fairly well for MMORPG's so I am sure that one will work for what you would like.

Laggy display after a few minutes play

lot of the game now a days require a pretty big video card. A 5200 is outdated and i know u cant upgrade your laptop. The best solution to this is increase the amount of RAM in your laptop to the max. When you run games lower the video settings to low or medium. Another thing that can help is running msconfig in the RUN box and turning off lot of apps that run in background

Problem running video with ATI x1300 video card

that is an old budget graphics card not meant for gaming. An Ati 3650 or Nvidia 8600gt or better would suffice for gaming. The minimum specs for games show what is needed just to play the game at the lowest detail and resolution. UPGRADE!

The best place to purchase the Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 for a Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705 laptop is eBay. If available on eBay, the price could range from $230-$300 and search for "Dell 9400 video" or the card name. Some eBay sellers will give you a $50 or so credit, if you purchase a card from them. The video card can be downgraded (ATI Mobility Radeon® X1400 HyperMemory)
or upgraded (NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS or GTX). Also, you can try parts-people.com, but they're typically more expensive and reliable.

Yes, the video card can be repaired in most cases. Search eBay for Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 repairs.

Same problem with a different card - probably something else.

Games require lots of RAM. I would add as much as possible. I recommend crucial.com. They can automatically examine your PC online, and make suggestions. Cheap, fast, top quality. Been using them for years.

GRAPHICS CARD

The P5PE-VM has an AGP 8x expansion slot. So AGP 8x graphics cards would be compatible. AGP is old and got replaced by PCI Express. But you can still buy AGP cards. the Nvidia 7800 is the best AGP card you can get, because Nvidia stopped creating the technology for AGP cards with this one.
