The model is an older set----likely the master screen is turned a little low-------located inside the set either on board at end of picture tube or at the high voltage transformer----set monitors brightness level to picture tube---a little low and picture will blink on and off---age of the set etc.

SOURCE: the sound on channel 3 is snowy and on aux 2 there

Superhetrodynes (TVs) piggyback video and audio signals (called IF -- intermediate frequencies). There are various IC's (Integrated Circuits) which detect these frequencies and separate them (filter them) to separate amplifiers and processing circuits. The first STAGE of these filters/processors are in the tuner. The tuner appears to have developed an internal malfunction.

On - OK
1 Blink - Ignition failure. Check Gas flow, gas pressure, gas valve, flame sensor.
2 Blinks - Closed pressure switch. Check pressure switch (stuck in closed position).
3 Blinks - Pressure switch - failre to close. Check venter, pressure switch, vent blockage.
4 Blinks - Open limit switch. Main limit or aux limit are open. (My comment - Means overheating in chamber. Often result of blocked intake air. Bad filter. In my case, plastic wrap had been sucked into the intake. )
6 Blinks - False flame sensed. Check sticking gas valve.
Rapid continuous blinking - Incorrect twinning, incorrect primary polarity. Reverse transformer secondary leads, reverse primary wires.

Closed pressure switch can be from dirty combustion vents, bad chamber pressure - like missing screws, maladjusted gas pressure, failing pressure switch, loose hoses, moisture in the hoses or fan blades The switch need to be closed to ge the unit to work

Comcast Xfinity DVR motorola DCX3400 series want to skip forward 30 seconds?

If you are like me who used to have the satalite DVR you miss the skip forward function that some of the remotes have. With comcast or Xfinity remotes you can program them. Mine says Xfinity on the bottom and since I have no others to compare it to I cant say this will work on all remotes. Watch for the blinks as they will signify that everything is OK. If they dont give it a minute or two and then start over again pressing the buttons fully down. Since most of the button funtions are already taken, and at least on my NEW TV it didnt come with Picture In Picture funtion so these buttons are not being used by me. So lets use that last PIP minus button for this example. When you are done you can still reassign the Aux button back to say a DVD player or something, but only if it doesnt still work. This sequence just programs the remote PiP button.
Press the Aux button one time
Press and hold the Setup button until the Aux blinks 2 times
after it does enter these numbers 01376,
now the remote should blink 2 times again.
press and hold Setup again until 2 blinks
now press 994
and press the Aux button
Press the Setup one time and now enter the numbers 00173
Press the Cable button
Press the PIP Channel Minus at the bottom of the comcast remote and you will see the lights blink again at the top of the remote to signify 2 blinks that it is done.

Hey I'm trying to program my Comcast remote to control a Vizio VHT510 sound bar sound system bought at Costco. Any ideas if there is a way do do this?

After much research, here is a step-by-step for getting your Vizio Soundbar to work with the Comcast remote using EFC codes (mine is the newer charcoal grey one, works great!)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 11144 (2 blinks)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00169 - Vol Up - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00168 - Vol Down - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00037 - Mute - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00165 - Power - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00164 - Input - Should get 2 blinks

These are optional, I didn't use them:

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00036 - <button to use for TVOL> - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00101 - <button to use for TSHD> - Should get 2 blinks

Then set the volume control on the remote and other settings according to the Remote's manual.

ENJOY!! Hope this helps someone...

I am stuck on channel 2

some tv's default to channel 2 after being unplugged.since it is a older tv ,the buttons on the remote and the tv maybe worn down.on the tv itself try pushing the buttons down a liitle harder. if you have aux or line in/video inputs, scroll down on the channel button to log into a aux channel for the dvd player.as for the remote try buying a cheap universal remote to see if that works.
good luck
