Re: Lexmark X5070 won't print
Could have a corrupt driver. Disconnect
the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do
both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer
to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Try to clear the Lexmark print queue from pending/stuck print jobs so you can successfully uninstall the Lexmark software/ printer driver. Here's how:
Browse to Start -> Run...
and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print
Browse to your
windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending
in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these
Browse to Start -> Run...
and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the
print spooler service)
After successfully clearing the print queue, uninstall the printer software by going to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 1100 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Reboot your pc when prompted. Hope this helps.

Actually, it does not matter what mode your printer is on when printing from your computer. Whenever your printer detects a print job sent to it, the printer will automatically acknowledge the signal and print the file - no matter if it's on Copy, Scan or Fax Mode.
I have this same printer. The print cartridges have chips in them that disable them after a certain amount of print jobs, even if there's still ink inside. You can not refill them. I will never buy another Lexmark, they are obviously a greedy company that cares little about their customers.
First I try to uninstall the printer, it didn't work, so I reinstall the the printer anyway, it worked for one print only.
As second attempt I disconnected the printer completely, turned the PC off, and after few minutes on again. Uninstalled printer.
Reconnected the cables again, install the printer - it works well!
