Question about Panasonic DVD-RV32 DVD Player

1 Answer

HO 7 error on a Panasonic DVD/CD player.

I have a Panasonic DVD/CD player Model number DVD-RP62 which I've had since mid/late 2002. It has operated beautifully until about 3 days ago when it started acting up and hanging and then giving me this HO 7 code. I called the Panasonic tech service folks and they walked me thru the INIT process to see if that would correct the problem...no success. I also unplugged the unit and plugged back in...no success.

Is this baby ready for the trash heap or is there a technical fix without spending significant $$???

I have the H07 error code as well. The manual (page 20) says "Trouble is likely to have occurred." Duh. the "07" means something to someone - but it just says to try powering down - and if that doesn't work to contact a "qualified service person". Anyone else know anything?

Thanks robb334 for trying. However, I took the DVD apart to expose the gearing, etc. Blew dust, etc out of the gearing...lubed the spindle and put everything back together and tried it. Thought it was going to work but then it stopped and I got the H07 error again.

The DVD plays for about 5 minutes and then the HO 7 code appears after the player shuts down! We were away for six weeks and this is what happened when we got home! It's been a good product up until now! I'll let my husband try some of your suggestions in the morning! Thanks for the help!!

We will be watching a movie and all of the sudden the HO7 error will come up. Sometimes, just letting it set for a day or two will work, but it is just a hit & miss whether it will work or not. Have not tried taking it apart yet, maybe that is next.

I got mine to work. I looked around a bit on the web, and it seems that HO7 means that the disc isn't spinning. Whether it's the motor that's bad, or just dirt etc, the problem is that the disc doesn't spin. I took the cover off of mine and blew out the dirt. Then i gave it a spin by hand to get it started. I'm not sure if I just had dirt clogging up the gears, but at least it works (for now). Good luck on yours.

My panasonic dvd player shows locked when I tried to eject. I can't eject tehDVD. My kids could have jinxed it. Model panasonic sc-pt550 TQ

There are two lock conditions for this device.

If you can't eject the disc:

Enabling removal of disc

1. Select the DVD/CD function.

2. At POWER ON condition, press and hold down the stop button and the power button on the player for at least three seconds.

(The message, "___LOCKED_" appears when the function is activated.)

If you can't operate the functions:

Enabling operation of selector and disc

1. Select the DVD/CD function.

2. At POWER ON condition, press and hold down the play button and the power button on the player for at least three seconds.
(The message, "___LOCKED_" appears when the function is activated.)

Hope this helps!

PANASONIC PORTABLE DVD PLAYER ERROR CODE 3. MODEL NUMBER LS5

This could be the laser going or a dirty track. I suggest that you first clean the laser gently. If this doesn't work you must take the player apart and clean the track that the laser moves on along with everything around it (keeping in mind that the laser is fragile).
