Question about Panasonic TC L42E50 - 42" VIERA E50 Series LED-backlit L - TC-L42E50
After a power surge last week, the tv totally shut down. After turning a variety of boxes on and off, the tv worked again. Now, the tv has shut down again..... no power.
My panasonic 42 inch does this if the power goes out or tv is unplugged prior to powering the tv off first. I unplug the power from the wall wait 2-4 days max then when I plug it back in the tv comes right back on with no problems. Don't know why I have to wait so long to plug it back in

Fault in the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

In Panasonic TVs in such cases a few components like fuse, rectifier, main dc filter, and some transistors/STRs go bad. Replace them and the set is up again.

SOURCE: 42" Plasma TV Problem
same frustrating symptoms on brand new 42inch here! tv just turns itself off sometimes without warning or if changing to certain channels. leaves red light flashing for a while then red light goes away. any attempts with remote gives flashing green liht on tv. manual power off and on restarts tv but auto off again. found while manual power on keep changing channel on remote till stable picture appears. then use remote to shut down tv - solid red light indicates standby mode. then use remote to turn on again... till next time it happens. but what is technical fault??

SOURCE: my panasonic viera wont turn
We had this problem. Very common to Panasonic. The problem is your A board. Panasonic is cheap because they spec'd a board that was possiblly defective. As long as you purchased within 1 year, you should be covered by manufacturer's warranty and Panasonic will send someone to your home to repair. Otherwise, if you don't have extended warranty you will have to pay.

hello, you have a either your su, sd or sc boards fualty and it is a driver sos1 thats what the manual reads the best thing to do if your not electronically inclined or able to fix it is to get a service manual and make sure it is for your specific model and size you will find what the 7 blink codes mean, on my side i have a 42 in pana the service manual for this set and your is similar so since it is not the same model i cant tell you exactly what the truoble is but your best bet is to find a service manual find the 7 blink fualt then without getting ripped off you will know what the service man needs to do if you dont know or cant replace the parts yourself that is besides having to download firmware from your computer to a sd card and update your set but you need to solve the blinking code first it may solve the entire issue. the tv should come on when you resolve the blink codes or replace the fualty board or boards
