Mitsubishi self check: MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ON FOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device"(input) and "menu" buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release both together.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES AND THEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOU HAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and two blinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

I checked the fuse right by the power cord inside the tv and it's still good

2,2 means one of the green pico fuses on middle board is bad because of short in convergence circuit==I have instructions for this based on actual model number ---parts cost under 30 dollars let me know and we will find a way to get them to you for free.

I have the same issue and have the 2-2 error. It's not worth the money to have somebody fix but if I can do myself for cheap I would be willing to try. How would I go about getting the parts and instructions to fix

I have the same TV. Won't turn on. Only tries to turn on and clicks off..no pic. I did diagnostic and I have the 1/2 blink or no error. What does that mean then? Adrian

What if it shows 1/ 2 and 'no error' but still turns off immediately with no pic.

you may have a convergence problum if your convergence ic,s are shorted, you will need to check the convergence fuses in the power supply.

Your problem is in the power supply section,,all the solder there holding the parts is crack or loose already need to resolder so performance will back again.

Won't turn on

These sets have a short protects that will shut down the tv if certain things are wrong. A good start would be to extract a code and see what is shutting the set down. To do this you simply hold down the menu and device (or input) buttons on the front of the tv and read the sequence of blinks. There are 2 digits seperated by pauses. 2.2 is common and points to a convergence failure. 2.3 points to the power supply. I can provide more codes if either of these are not the code for your tv.

Mitsubishi ws-65907 tv will not power on

one of the two pico fuses that protect the convergence chips this model uses is gone--see attached photo--

NEVER change just the fuses---if one of the two fuses is blown--the convergence chips got them-----

there are several ways to proceed from here-check the two fuses indicated in the photo and tell me if either or both are bad.

My Mitsubishi WS-65907 turns off immediately after you turn it on

Perform the self check that this set should have: when you turn it on and the power light goes off:

On the front of the set press and hold both the MENU and INPUT (OR DEVICE) BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME FOR AT LEAST 5 SECONDS----then release both buttons.

The power light should blink a two digit error code--for example----------2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks--this is the most common one and the easy one to know what is wrong.

Let me know what you find and I will tell you what it means.
