Hello
Connect the audio out of the TV to Audio In to your surround sound reciever. If your TV and Audio amp has digital inputs, [HDMI]; you can connect them with an HDMI cable, and select the input of the amp to HDMI. You haven't given sufficient information for both your TV and amp. Ie, its model number, Brand hname of the amp etc. If so, I might have give you more details about its connection proceedings. OK.

I cant find the hdmi icon in sounds

Hello walchell,
Welcome, and thank you for using FixYa!
To answer your question: HDMI Audio Output is part of your Digital Output package. Try turning up the Digital Output. If you are not hearing sound to your TV from your PC or DVR while connected to the HDMI cable, it is likely that you have purchased a cheaper HDMI cable that only provides video out. A high quality HDMI cable cost close to $35.00 for both outputs.
Have a great day!

When your notebook computer is connected to an HDMI device, you may encounter certain display and sound issues. For example, if you have your notebook computer connected to an LCD TV and/or surround sound speakers with a high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cable as part of a home theater system, you may encounter some common HDMI display and/or sound issues such as the following: If you are experiencing one of the following issues, click the link to go directly to a section of this document for a resolution. If you are experiencing an HDMI display or sound issue that is not listed above, please contact HP for assistance. The HDMI cable must be connected when it is configured. Use correct HDMI cable for your HDMI device There are three types of HDMI: 19-pin (normal head), 19-pin (small head), and 29-pin. If your computer and HDMI device use different cable types, adapters are available. For more information, see HP Notebook PCs - Overview of HDMI and DVI Connections for PCs . Surround sound option is unavailable First, confirm that your notebook recognizes HDMI audio by right-clicking the Volume icon in the Windows system tray and selecting Playback Devices . If you do not see HDMI Output then you may need to reinstall or update your audio drivers. Also, make sure your notebook's BIOS is up-to-date. When using WinDVD to play a movie after selecting HDMI as the default audio output, the surround sound option may be unavailable. To resolve this issue, please update to WinDVD version 9.0 or later at the HP Software & Driver downloads page . If you are using the MediaSmart program, make sure you are using the latest version. Hi,I was trying to get audio from my laptop to my tv with my HDMI cable I have picture but no sound from the TV need help please anyone thanks.........

Hello

Firstly u may want to check ur laptop is set to 'sound out' and then check ur tv has been set to receive audio streams from ur laptop.

Make sure your tv is set to accept sound from the HDMI plug and not from a analog connection. Also check your sound properties by rightclicking the speaker in the tasktray and making sure the HDMI audio is not muted.

Try going into Control panel and to Sound an ensure you have your playback device set to digital output.Left click sound icon & change the default sound to hdmi output

RX-V465 Yamaha Reciver we can get picture but no sound w/PS3

Check HDMI Sound settings:
Enter Setup menu via remote, then Func. Setup / HDMI / Audio. You can choose from Amp (sound will be played via Yamaha), TV (sound will go straight via HDMI out to your TV and not play on Yamaha) and Amp+TV (Yamaha will play the sound and also pass it to the TV).
Also what is your source? DVD or some network player? For example Yamaha cannot decode audio in AAC or other computer formats, so be sure to change the audio settings of your player to output PCM and not raw/bitstream.

No sound when using HDMI cable

There a few options you can check: first of all, try to hook an audio cable to the TV. Some laptops do not support hdmi as audio output.
also, I would try to check if your hdmi audio device is set in your audio controls. Appaarently, in most cases the laptop speakers are playing by default, which means you will have to set the hdmi audio yourself. Right click on the volume control icon in your desktop (minimized icons, to your right), then go to playback devices (depends on your windows of course), then check if the hdmi is active or not.
