Question about MSI MS-6534 (6534-010) Motherboard

1 Answer

MSI MS-6534 Hi everyone. I have a question about a replacement CPU for an MSI MS6534 mobo. I read (on that it doesn't support 533fsb Northwood P4 CPU's and refuses to recognise ANY Prescott core models. I'm looking for a faster CPU. The current one is:- Socket 478 1.5ghz Northwood core 100mhz normal fsb OC'ed to 2ghz by upping fsb to 133 I'm after a faster CPU, but unsure what versions of skt478 P4's I can use - Surely, if I can set the fsb to 133 then I can use a 533fsb Northwood CPU even if the Prescott core (are they the Hyper-Threading ones?) are out of the question?

you need the right heat sink for the cpu that you are using for the board check on board for cpu plug in, then plug the fan in make sure that you have enought heatsink paste on cpu not to much just enought to do the job. if that dose not do it then the board is bad.

Memory +cpu upgrade

No to the cpu you selected. Board would not support that cpu. The RAM you selected would probably work but for how long I couldn't say. With prices pretty low right now it would probably be better to purchase a new motherboard, cpu, & RAM. Hope this helps.
