Each transmitter uses a unique security code. It will be necessary to press the LEARN button on the receiver to accept the transmitter security code upon initial use, if batteries are replaced, or if a replacement transmitter is purchased from your dealer or the
factory. In order for the receiver to accept the transmitter security code, be sure the slide button on the receiver is in the REMOTE
position; the receiver will not LEARN if the slide switch is in the ON or OFF position. The LEARN button in located on the front face
of the receiver; inside the small hole labeled LEARN. Using a small screwdriver or end of a paperclip gently press and release
the black LEARN button inside the hole. When you release the LEARN button the receiver will emit an audible "beep". After the
receiver emits the beep press ANY transmitter button and release. The receiver will emit several beeps indicating that the transmitter's code has been accepted into the receiver.

Gas ventless fireplace remote will not work have inserted new batteries in both fireplace and remote but fireplace not recognizing remote

Every time the batteries are changed in the receiver and transmitter the transmitter has to be "re-learned" to the receiver. To do this locate the "learn" button which will look like a tiny hole so you have to stick the end of a pin or a pen in the hole to press the button. Hold the button down until it beeps at you 5 times and release. press the button again and release and then press Any button on the transmitter.
Once the receiver is set into its "learn" function it does not matter what button is pressed on the transmitter because the next signal the receiver picks up will be the frequency it is attached-to.
In order to change the transmitter simply hold the learn button down until it beeps 5 times again which tells us it has wiped out its memory. Then press, release and press the transmitter.

How do I resync my ProCom remote with my ProCom Vent Free Fireplace? I have an older model, SSU320RHL-GB.

I ran into this same problem yesterday while I was trying to get my used unit up and functioning.

If you don't switch from pilot to off and wait about a minute before turning it to the "electric" mode, the remote will NOT light the unit.

My Valor fireplace won't turn off with the remote

Easy turn the gas cylinder close then its off,Or you could have a faulty control valve or thermo couple .Thermo couple is the small device looks like a probe to detect heat this is normally directly in the small pilot flame. The pilot flame if not burning will not open the control valve for the other burners to come on.If the other burners come on but do not go of when turned off. then need to check control valve.

Since it can be a potential hazard, it must have safety protocols in place. If you have the owners manual, Read it's instructions carefully. Look through manual for TROUBLESHOOTING then look for safety locations, there you should find all the answers to your questions. Good Luck too you.

Cant start gas fireplace

  • Find the remote's receiver under the fireplace.
  • There should be a switch to change from "remote" to "ON".
  • Turn the switch to "ON", if the fireplace ignites, you may need to re synchronize your remote. If it does not, your remote control may be bad.
  • Bypass the remote to ensure your fireplace is operational by connecting the "TH" and "TP/TH" terminals on the valve with a wire or paperclip. If the fireplace lights up fine, then it is for sure a bad remote.

Receiver was beeping all the time. I changed batteries in receiver, and now remote does not control fireplace. Remote appears to be working fine. If I move switch to on instead of remote on receiver, it...

If you changed the batteries in the receiver (the black box in the fireplace). You should also change the 2-batteries in the hand-held remote. This may sound stupid, but it's not ... be sure all the batteries in the receiver (black box) are all facing the proper direction. Believe me, it's easy to get one turned the wrong direction. Also, make sure that the slide switch is in fact in the remote position. It can be finicky at times. Also, check to make sure that the two wires are still connected firmly at the gas fireplace Control Valve and in the receiver.

  • Now, if all of that doesn't solve your problem, the receiver may have lost it's code..
When matching security codes, be sure slide button on the receiver is in the REMOTE position; the code will NOT "LEARN" if the slide switch
is in the ON or OFF position. Program the remote receiver to LEARN a new security code by pushing in the LEARN button on the top of the
remote receiver and then pressing the MODE button on the transmitter. A change in the beeping pattern, at the receiver, indicates the
transmitter's code has been programmed into the receiver.

There's a lot to check out and do, but that's how you trouble shoot these remotes.

Fireplace sparkignitor not activating All of sudden yesterday the remote would not initiate the fireplace spark igniter. First thing I did was replace the D batteries in the FP unit with tested good batteries. That did not resolve the problem when it had in the past couple of months. I replaced the 13v battery in the 1001 remote even though the light on the remote was strong. I went back to the FP D battery case and slipped a battery out to check connection and slipped back in. Just putting the battery back in initiated the igniter. I tested the remote see if would turn off the FP and it would not. So at bed time to turn off the fire I just pulled out one D battery. This morning I decided to trouble shoot the problem. First I slipped one D battery I removed last night back into the holder expecting the igniter to activate like it did yesterday. It did not. I started looking around at the other black box wired to the same place the pair D battery box is attached. I saw a big arrow and slipped the cover off. Low and behold was full four AA batteries I never knew existed. I replaced those four AA batteries correctly inserted and verified good batteries. Watched a Skytech 1001 "learn" button video and followed those instructions since I pulled the four AA batteries out and replaced them. I tried the remote and that did not work. Summary: with new batteries in the remote and both battery cages at the FP (one holding two D and the other holds four AA> I have reached the end of my troubleshooting expertise. Guess it could be the spark igniter but I go back to the strange event of me just popping out one of the NEW D batteries and popping it in and the igniter initiated. And the only way I could turn off FP other then turning off the gas was to pull one D battery. I did this morning spot the on/off switch on a housing that the two battery cages are connected to. Guess if I had known that was there I could have turned that switch off last night instead of popping out one D battery to kill the fire maybe would not have the problem tis morning. Guess it did not like that battery out over night. I did test it couple times yesterday by slipping one D battery out and back in and the fire would die and reignite each time I tested. Was about three times so I expected it to behave same way this morning. it did not. What is my next step? HELP, HELP.
