Question about 1995-1997 Chevy 1500 Truck Ignition Starter Alarm Switch

97 k1500 jerks when turning right at slow speeds

When in reverse or just starting out my right tire will **** like the brakes are locked on that side. the tire will squeal a little as if the brakes where on as well. What could cause this. I have replaced cv axle because when this first happened I noticed some grease on the cv boot. That didn't help it.

I would change the brake hos going to the caliper on the right side. In fact, I would change them both.

You have a sticking brake caliper on the Right front. You can verify this by feeling the temperature of the tire rim after you have been driving it awhile. The metal will be very hot compared to the other front tire. Get it fixed - otherwise, you risk a flat tire and possibly a fire when the grease in the hub ignites.

Over 89000 miles. Noise has not lead to a wheel bearing. No change by turning right or left, even with sharp turning trying to get a change. Louder at 50 mph but always there. Never without rumbling a

It could be a universal joint.
Also it could be a warped brake rotor. Does the noise change when you lightly put on the brakes, you might try using the brake and gas at the same time for a short test.

1st, check your battery cables, vibration at high speeds leads to the loosen cables not to make good electrical connections. 2nd , check the transmission linkage, Is it loose? , 3rd, check your brakes, a loose pad/ shoe may be creating friction due to dragging parts that should be snug fit. if all those basics have checked out OK, then due your fuel pressure (dirt may "remotely" contribute to that, you should have a fitting right before the throttle body, hook up the gauge and get the reading, ...BY THE WAY, check your engine and transmission mounts, wash the engine if it is too dirty too see. Another one is If you have an EGR valve ( may be attached by 2 bolts no bigger than 13mm, remove the EGR valve and inspect the pin for carbon build up. I believe that it may be your mounts. raise the car off the ground entirely and turn your tires , move them side to side ( with brute force) and also pass your hand flat and around the tires tread surface and feel for bumps, perhaps you may need a tire balance. GOOD LUCK!

97 k1500 on 38" tires, gear ratio?

Changing tires does not affect gear ratio. It only affects actual vehicle speed vs. the speed hat the computer "thinks" the vehicle is doing.

you shouldnt use 4x4 on dry road its made for pulling or snow mud etc type situations if you feel its ok then check tire size are they all the same size tires and the pressure all the same if you dont have a check eng light on then there is nothing wrong with the 4x4 but dont forget all wheel drive works with abs tcm if one wheel spins faster or slower then the rest it puts on the abs to slow it down or the trans shifts up to speed it up so there are a few things to check

Front Axle making noise and jerking while turning

It is probally in 4 wheel drive. It is supposed to **** while turning in 4 wheel drive because all 4 tires are trying to turn at the same speed and when you turn one tire slows down and the other tire speeds up but it cant in 4 wheel drive so it skips or jerks. If there is also a clicking noise the CV joint might be going out.

HI I have a1989 chevy p/u c-1500 sometimes backing out of my driveway the rear right tire locks up the wheel cylinders and rear lines are new brake shoes and drums are good I though it was the emergency...

With the older drum brake system going in reverse will often tighten the adjuster on the brake mechanism. The adjuster has a thumb wheel to adjust the shoes in and out. BUT there should be a little plate that locks the thumb wheel once you are where you want it to be. I would guess that either you don't have that little plate or it is not keeping that thumb wheel from turning on the right side.
