Your electrode acts as flame sense as well. Remove electrode and clean it thoroughly/carefully especially at end where flame would be sensed and retry. Be sure connections on high tension wire is good and clean as well as connector and contacts on circuit board as well. If still same result, replace electrode.
Yah, pretty common occurrence once they get a few years on them. Really have to watch for a little corrosion right where it breaks, is a good sign, it's getting pretty thin, and should be changed. Of course you have the owners bumping it quite often when manually lighting as well. Thanks for getting back.
THE T-STAT IS FIXED AT THE FACTORY AND DOESN'T "CONTROL" THE TEMP. IT SIMPLY PREVENTS THE TEMP. FROM EXCEEDING A CERTAIN TEMP. REMOVE THE T-STAT AND THERE SHOULD BE A STAMP MARK EMBEDDED IN THE CASING INDICATING THE TEMP. YOU CAN PURCHASE ANOTHER T-STAT OF A LOWER TEMP. AT A RV DEALER. THERE ARE KITS AVAILABLE THAT YOU CAN INSTALL SO YOU CAN ADJUST THE TEMP.
A GOOD RV DEALER SUCH AS WHERE I WORK HAVE A BOARD TESTER AND CHECK IT FOR FREE. A DEALER NEAR YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT FOR YOU AS WELL. THE SENSORS ARE THE ECO AND T-STAT. NO, THEY CAN'T BE BYPASSED. THE ECO AND T-STAT WORK IN CONJUNCTION BY REGULATING THE WATER TEMP AND PROVIDING POWER TO THE CIRCUIT. THEY ACT AS SAFETY DEVICES.
