SOURCE: Air compressor motor stalls under pressure

this sounds like a bad pressure switch.if the unit is not shutting off at the same pressure each time this would be the cause.2 if the pressure is not unloading the air pressure on the compressor side of the unit it will cause the unit to struggle when it starts a cycle because the piston is under a load .how this works is say the unit starts from 0 psi when it get to the desired pressure you have it set on the unit kicks off . the other adjustment most units have on them is what pressure to cycle back on.so when the unit reaches say 100 pounds ,it kicks off and bleeds the air off the compressor side so when it starts back up it wont start up with pressure on the piston.

SOURCE: I have a model FP209501 Air Compressor 2 Gallon,

The spray gun consumes more air volume than the compressor can deliver. You can pause painting periodically to allow the compressor to 'catch-up' or buy a larger delivered-volume compressor. The compressor that you have was intended to supply air for pneumatic nailers and staplers in an intermittent fashion. Hope this helps!

My kobalt 80 gallon air compressor won't turn on

BE CAREFUL! Jump the pressure switch and see if it starts. If so, replace the switch. If it doesn't start but hums, cut the power and try to turn the compressor by hand. Free it up if possible. If it does not hum, look for a reset on the motor or a blown fuse or breaker.

Why does the safety valve go off before the pressure switch on a porter cable 80 gal air compressor

The maximum pressure on most small compressors is 10 bar or 1000kpa which is about 145 psi in the old language most safety valves are set to 150 psi. I suggest you get some one to reduce the pressure switch setting. Running a compressor at elevated pressures does not give you any more air. A reasonable pressure for small compressors is 120 psi

Will not shut off. blows out after max pressure is reached

Is the incoming power connected to the top of the starter in the black box to the left side. next check the pressure switch. the contacts should open at approx. 175 plus or minus 5 psi.you will need to remove the switch cover. then watch the switch and pressure. If the switch does not open at 175 stop the compressor and remove the power. Using a small screwdriver gently insert the screwdriver between each set of contacts. this will un stick the contacts and the pressure switch will probably snap open. I believe the contacts may have welded themselves together. If the contacts are not the problem you have some type of wiring issue.More info will be needed for that.

Only goes up to 150psi how do you get the 175 it is marked to put out

Pressure switches are set at the factory and are marked as to the range. If your pressure switch is marked with range to 150 probably best to not try to adjust, however you could increase the pressure somewhat by turning screws under the cover (google your brand/model # of pressure switch for adjustment). If your switch is marked to 175 and the compressor runs and never reaches cut off, then problem exists within pump or there is a leak in the system. If your switch is marked to 150, my suggestion is to leave as is to increase the life of the compressor. It is never a good idea to use a tool at max setting. Try to use tools to about 75-80 % of rating /duty cycle. You practice this every day with your car/truck. Although you can travel at 100 mph you drive reserved to take care of your engine/trans. good luck

Hi,I got a Ingersoll Rand type 30 model 234 compressor. It looks good but it has no motor.I'm thinking like 120v,3horses?,but not sure about rpm.any help would be nice.thanks

According to the information you provided your looking at a 10 HP motor at three phase. Do you have three phase at your location? If not I would look into getting a single phase compressor. If you do want to get it going I would notify your local IR dealer so they can get you the right Model number, RPM, Pulley and Motor Frame Size to match your unit.

Please read below....Jim...if this helped you please send me a positive response...Thanks!

I have a ch 28 gal (wl611700aj) air compressor,it pumps up to 80 psi.wont pump up any further but does keep running.whats your thoughts?

Here are a couple of things to check. While the compressor is running spray soapy water on all airlines, fittings, bottom of pressure switch, regulator and drain valve to make sure that they are not leaking. A small leak will prevent the unit from reaching cutout limit. Repair as needed. Next unplug compressor and remove cover to expose cylinder and piston. Move piston to top of cylinder and check for scratches or wear neer top of cylinder. If scratched, air is bypassing piston ring and will not reach cutout pressure. If cylinder looks good and no leaks then problem most likely is valve plate/ reed valves or head gasket. Problems within head will cause low pressure and air line to tank will be very hot. Bad reed valves will also cause air to blow out of intake when it reaches 75 to 80 psi. Parts are available at www.chpower.com or at www.toolpartsdirect.com. Good luck

Sorry but this compressor will only supply up to a maximum of 130 psi. That is all it will do, so this compressor will not suit your needs of 175 psi. There is no way to make it produce more. You simply need a larger compressor. This Northstar compressor will suit your needs. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_290954_290954

Air compressor switch

That means that when the switch is turned on , and the complessor is pluged into a power outlet, the electric motor will start when the air pressure in the tank drops below 80 psi.and the motor will stop when the pressure reaches 100 psi.

please rate this,
