Take a look at the blog entry for September 11, 2012. It's written for a D90 but it's just as applicable to the D200. Remember to be VERY GENTLE. It's not the same as cleaning your bathroom mirror.

The Emergency Override Key got stuck in the safe key hole and it cannot be removed.

Tap the area near the key with a hammer while pulling on the key. This will jiggle the pins in the lock.

Hi.. the safely remove icon doesn't appear..and i cant safely remove my hardware even if i eject it still it appears on my explorer..if the driver id missing then why it can run on my computer and able to...

The safely remove icon just tells you when no activity is occuring to the flash drive or portable HD so that you don't corrupt data while its writing to the drive. It still shows up in the explorer because it is still connected. If you clicked Eject and it says it's safe to remove then remove it. It might even be safe to remove if you're sure the device is not being used at all.

How can i stop my sentry safe from beeping when i push numbers?

I have a 1459E model sentry safe. I was having the same problem. I removed the front electronic assembly, easily removed the circuit board, located the annoying beep speaker, then fliped the board over and heated up the two solder pins holding the speaker to the board, then it easily pulled away from the board. Speaker removed, I then op tested it by plugging it back the way I took it out......and voila! NO BEEPING!!! YES!!!

The safely remove hardware function doesn't work on HP Printer and MagicJack Plug-in

First of all there is no need to exit the USB by clicking Safely Remove Hardware function. Default in windows you can remove the USB without using the Safely Remove Windows option. Don't worry about this.Thank you for contacting Fixya.

2000 Infiniti radio safe mode

The Infiniti Radios don't have safe mode. I believe this is because they are a royal pain for thieves to remove and will only work with other Double DIN setups.

The radio WILL NOT going into security lock.

Back up disconnecting

To Answer your question: If the PC says it safe to remove, this means that it has completed all data transaction between Camera and PC. The Camera will remain in the USB MASS STORAGE mode until the 5v USB is removed (USB cable disconnected from PC).

I suggest you read further and perform the procedure at the end of this LONG explaination. Sorry, I would have paraphrased if possible. The short version is that you do not need to worry about "Safely Removing" the camera.

The Term "SAFELY REMOVE HARDWARE" is misleading. You run no risk in losing the original data if it is already backed up from the location you are writing from. For EXAMPLE, if it is saved on the Camera and you are only copying from the Computer to the PC....there is NO RISK of losing the data on your Camera by disconnecting the USB without safely removing.

The process of "Safely Removing" the camera is necessary if your Camera is set to "Cache" data as it writes to the PC.

If you do not have the camera set to "Cache" as it writes to the PC, you Do Not need to safely disconnect as the Data has been immediately transferred and stored to the Computer Hard Drive.
Cache means that the Camera files are written to a volitile memory location on the computer before final storage to the Computers Hard Drive. If the Camera is setup to do this and you do not safely remove the Camera before disconnecting the USB, there is a potential for data Loss....on the computer side.

You may check if your Camera is set to cache using the following. These Cameras should be default "no caching"

1. right click "safely remove" ICON
2. "Safely Remove Hardware" Window Appers
3. select the JVC Camera on the "USB Mass Storage.." drop down tree
4. select [properties]
5. select "policies" tab
6a. select "optimize for quick removal" if you want to eliminate need to "Safely Remove" (BEST)
6b. Select "Optimize for Performance" (FASTER)
