Question about Electrolux IQ Touch Blue 4.05 cu. ft. Steam Front Load Washer EIFLS55I

1 Answer

Clothes are too wet

I believe the pump is not working or the hoses are clogged because the clothes are too wet. It's a random problem that's becoming more frequent. I don't know how to open the washer to get to the pump and or hoses.

The washer ended up not draining any water at all. We didn't want to wait for an answer so ended up taking the lid off to be able to remove the face to get to the hoses, pump. It's not a terribly proud moment but the thing we think is called the coin basket was clogged with dog hair. We haven't put the machine back together to test it but we think this will fix the problem.

If it was clogged then cleaning it out and putting it back together should work

SOURCE: electrolux washing machine model #

Hi,

E31 indicates a fault in the pressure switch, the wiring from the switch to the main control board or the main control board itself.

This can happen if water gets into the switch.

Turn the machine off.
Hold the same buttons as before and while holding them, turn the dial 1 notch clockwise.
The leds will flash, let go of the buttons and the leds will scroll.

Turn the knob 1 more click clockwise.
It should start filling.

Watch it, if it's overfilling (more than 3/4 the way up the door), turn the machine off.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Clothes too damp after spin cycle

Front loading washers are notorious for not spinning the water out of a small load of clothes. This is because there is not enough clothes in the washer to balance the tub during the spin cycle.

Try washing a slightly larger load with a minimum of six items or more. This is one of the downsides to front load models and no specific brand is immune to the problem.

Frigidaire Affinity Front Load Washer wont drain.

If your pump had something in it, it wouldn't have had to clog it, but rather just stopped the internal spinning. My coworker removed a dollar bill from his water pump, and it fixed the problem he was having (same as you've described) and the water pump worked well after it was re-installed.
Worst case scenario, you reinstall it and it doesn't drain and you spend 40 or 50 bucks online for the part. I would reinstall and see if it works. I'd bet on it.

Maytag bravos washer will not complete cycles

Remove clothes from drum. Siphon out (or wet vac out) visible water in the drum. Blow into drain hose. This back flushes the system. After hearing gurgling and seeing bubbles come up thru the drum, you know its a fairly clear line. Now take your wet vac and siphon out remaining water by connecting it to the drain line using duct tape. The lights will correct themselves and your washer will now work normally. At least this is how I fixed mine without disconnecting anything or making a big mess. Good luck.

My hotpoint BWD129 , dryer does not work clothes are barely warm

Clothes not drying, but dryer runs & heats
1.defective operating thermostat---test thermostat, replace if defective
2.fan or it's pulley loose on shaft---tighten set screw
3.incorrect heat or timer settings---reset timer
4.clothes to wet when placed in dryer----wring out or extract water from clothes before placing in dryer
5.clogged lint screen or duct (little air motion)---clean out lint screen & duct

I have a LTF2940ES1 horrible noise and wet clothes

you ahve a clogged pump
remove the toe kick
the pump will be right there on the right
get a towel and disconnect the hoses
you will see a sqaure sump take that hose off
and clean it out
check to make sure there is nothing in the pump
reassemble and should be fine

My dyer heats and tumbles, but doesn't dry

I'd check first for clogged vent hose or clogged lint filter or clogged vent flap on wall (outside).

If that's not a problem, it may be a faulty thermostat. Heating element is probably okay if it heats some of the time.

More info, let me know.

Calypso washer - LD Code - clothes still wet

harborstuff,
The code on your machine stands for 'Long Drain'. Ld flashes if it takes longer than 5 minutes to pump out water to a point where the operating pressure switch resets. I would bet that the bath mats left a bunch of stuff stuck in the recirculation pump hose, or pump itself, and the water cannot be drained fast enough. Check the intake and exit hoses of the recirc pump. It's easiest to get to the pump through the front panel of the machine(click here). Looks like this: click here. Hope this helps.
(Definitely get under there and check to make sure the pump hoses are not clogged. At $129 it's an expensive fix for a $10 bath mat that clogged up the hose with fuzz. 'know what I'm sayin'' :o) )

-samson39

BTW, I have the maintenance manual & have experience at replacing the recirc. pump, control board, motor board, touchpad, & lid switch so far.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II does not completely drain.

Mine will do this if clothes are left in it for a long period of time. The pump will not drain all water out because the will dry out the seals if they do. Your wet clothes dripped in the tub raising the water level to the bottom of the drum and that is why you have wet clothes. Remove clothes as soon as they are done, use cycle signal to avoid this.

Your pump, or the hose between the pump and drum, might be clogged.  Could be spare change from unemptied pockets.
