In the scanner unit there are 2 sets of ejection rollers. The first set (one farthest from you) there is a gear on the left hand side the probably has a worn collar on it that needs to be replaced. There is a black tab that sits in a slot on the right side of the shaft that holds the shaft in place. GENTLY move the tab away from the shaft then move the shaft to the left. The white gear on the left is the one that needs to be replaced if the collar is not perfectly square. Part #LE1196001. Hope that's it.

If you replaced the drum with a new one, then a special plastic piece with slots in it will be ejected. This will reset the "Replace Drum" message. Now the light print is probably due to the toner needing replacing. When you put in a new drum, it needs new toner too. Unfortunately, most people replace the toner into the old drum, which does no good and becomes wasted. NEW DRUM NEW TONER. Now if you have replaced the old drum with another old drum, you won't get the reset done properly and the new drum won't load any toner either. Perhaps you accidentally removed the plastic sheet when you replaced the drum? Well then, find the piece and run it through the paper feed, it will then reset. Best of luck
lift document feeder cover and look for paper. if no paper is present there are one or two switch levers that are on the bottom of feeder cover. make sure they can move freely and are not stuck.
Drum counter is reset by installing a new drum which contains a specifically designed "starter sheet" that is passed through the machine when it is installed, and triggers the paper sensors in a specific pattern, resetting the electronic counter. If you have installed a new drum and the message remains......I suspect that it was a remanufactured unit that did not include the "starter sheet" Is that the case?
