It sounds like one of three things:

1. Battery itself no longer functions
2. Laptop Charger has inadequate amperage
3. The motherboard is defective (most likely).

If you have another battery, or a friend with the same battery, you can try that first (and someone else's laptop charger).

If the problem is the motherboard, you can try to have it repaired but I don't trust many companies to do this kind of work. I outsource my motherboard jobs to a company called Laptop Rescue (http://www.laptoprescue.com/laptop-repair-2/). Coincidentally, they also sell laptop chargers in case that's the problem. Hopefully it's just a charger or battery issue and not a motherboard.

SOURCE: xp64 driver for toshiba satellite L305D laptop

looks like toshiba is more concerned on profit than in customer assistance, onece you bought a laptop - you are on your own. in two weeks time me and my friend we didnt find working drivers for what is mentioned. all the drivers toshiba is offering is for vista based os only, and some for win xp 32bit. for users like me, they only offer to use vista, pretending it is the best OS. i was working with my laptop even without those drives and noticed it working atleast twice as fast on xp than with vista. win xp was using approximately 270 ram memory to compare with 760 vista's when doing nothing. i am really sorry i bought a toshiba laptop! and now i am over 5.000 miles away! i hope they release drivers or die with no profit. sorry folks- solution is to reinstal vista :(

Take out the battery and only hook up the ac adapter.

If that doesn't work then, try reseating your memory one stick at a time in each slot one stick at a time and make sure you turn the laptop on after each stick reinsertion.

If you don't get video after that then go ahead and take the dvd drive out and also the hard drive.

If you dont' get video after all of this then that means that motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

SOURCE: how do i reset the bios password on a toshiba

Usually, there is the CMOS battery located in your laptop's main board. You just have to take that battery off for like 3 minutes and then return it back. You will have to open your laptop's screws underneath. If this laptop is still under warranty, do not open it as it will revoke the warranty seal. Just take if to an authorized service center and let them do it for you for free.

Dont panic. Just try to remove the battery and then insert it try turning on the laptop. The issue can be simply fixed if you are able to remove the memory module and inserting it again If this is isssue is only related to computer not coming back after hibernation.

Could you please suggest the best way to turn my toshiba on.it has not responded when I push the power button.I have tried removing the battery and putting it back in, as well as checking the power chord...

Hello,
When you take the battery out, don't just put it back in, leave it out and press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds then put the battery back in and try turning the laptop on by the power button. If it still will not power up after that you may have RAM / motherboard and CPU issues which can be hard to diagnose without extra parts laying around.

I hope that you have a goood back-up of file. Getting blue screen error is a fatal OS problem. You need to re-install windows. You need to get the CD that came with your computer or the operating system disc you used to install the windows. Insert the disc on the CD-DVD drive and restart your computer. Watch for a Press any key to boot from CD or DVD... message. Installation will start. Good Luck!
