Question about Maytag MER5870 Electric Kitchen Range
Performed a self clean which stopped after 2 hours and error F1 appeared and door is locked. After leaving unplugged overnight it now has F9 error code and door is still locked. Opened back panel to unplug touch pad ribbon connector but can not remove without force. Do not want to damage. Does anyone have any advice or pictorial of panel?
SOURCE: F1 Error Code on MayTag range
migs, on a Maytag the F1 indicates there is a problem with the touch-pad or control itself. Usually, it's the touch pad. Try killing the power to the range and remove the touch pad ribbon from the control board. Clean it with an eraser. Power back up and see if the error comes back. If it does, remove the ribbon cable again and power up with-out it attached. If the same error still returns, then I would suspect the control board itself. Catriver..post back.

F9 is a door latch problem.Check the door latch components. It actually means that the machine is not detecting the door closing. There might be some purchase of parts to rectify this problem.
