Question about Lexmark X6170 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Registration I have owned this X6170 all in one for many years. I just purchased a new HP computer and hand to reload the software with the help of one of your technicians. Now you are asking me to register the printer when it has already been regestered to us. What do I do now. I'm not going to purchawse a new printer. If I have to it won.t be a Lexmark. Registering the printer is part of the software driver setup. It doesn't cost anything...

I would go ahead and re-register it. The driver will then install and you should be able to print to it.

LexmarkX6170 Just quit printing, plenty of ink


1st try unplugging the printer to rest it, it that fails remove and reload the software and drivers for the printer following the installation instructions exactly, if that fails you should consider a new printer in your future as the cost to repair can be close to the replacement cost.

Reload your installation software. If you don't have it, use the Internet to download the latest drivers and patches from HP.com. Save them to your PC and make your own CD or, purchase a drivers disk direct from HP.

Updated computer, cannot find cd to reload my lexmark x6170


If you type in www.lexmark.com you can goto there support section type make/model into it and get a list of drivers/software for your system. This should help resolve your issue.

Hi Meg,

as far as the printer registration, there are several things you can do. You can go directly to https://register.hp.com/americas/flowPage/registration/index.do?cc=US&lang=en to register your product. Once the product is registered, even if the software automatically reminds you to register later, you can just click cancel and "do not show again".

Second, most of the time, HP has "product registration" as a menu item after the software is installed on your computer.

Click on start, all programs, then choose the HP program, then the printer, then product registration.

As far as the second problem, if you registered the other printer, you can check the status of your that item from this link. https://register.hp.com/americas/flowPage/userHub/index.do

then, under the " I am a returning user " section, enter your user ID, or click on "forgot your user id?" link. enter the email address you would have used to register it, and they will email you your User ID. Same thing for the password.

Have been having the same problem, but after some searching found this webpage. Hope others get some joy with this.

Lexmark x6170 printer


You will need to go on-line and find the Windows Vista download for the drivers and software for the item you are installing. After installing; re-start computer and see if printer prints.
