Look on te side of the card and you will find a small (mostly white) switch you can move up and down, it is used to lock the sd card (=write protected).

I just bought DYNEX card reader and cannot figure out how to take off write protection lock because I need to put new pictures on it and it won't let me because of write protection lock

The write protection lock is a very small slide switch on the left side looking at the top of the memory card. make sure that the slide is all the way forward for write operations and all the way back for write protect.

How to remove write protection from a sandisk hc memory card

Hello Friend,
  • There is a write-protection tab on the mini sd card HOLDER. Every time you insert this into your PC or card holder, this tab slides to the write protect position. Either keep resetting, inserting & reinserting until it doesn't slide or tape it down.
  • There is nothing wrong with the mini sd card. Simply locate the write protection key and push it.
  • The mini sd card has some error: Go for a low level formatting.
  • The card has virus: Remove the virus.
  • Change the Usb Port(Recommend you to Use Backside Port)
  • Change the Cable
  • Restart PC
  • Still have Problem Change Card Reader..

Hope this Helped you..Thanks for Contacting FixYa...........

How can i remove the write protection in my memory card?

on the microSD there is no write protection on the card itself, but it may be on the SD adaptor if you are using one. Some adaptors have a little toggle switch on the side that enables write protect.
If that is not the case then you have a faulty card, they show up as write protected when they go faulty.

Would like to remove info on sd card not photo's was map info for gps which is ng tried to put into reader will not read put in camera said not correct card please remove

Make sure that your switch on the sd card not in protected mode. If that doesn't do it, it could be the difference in formatting from the computer to the gps

Write protection won't allow me to download music

On the left side of your SD card you have a micro switch on it and must be on the upper position. On the down position your SD card is write protected !
