SOURCE: my lasko tower fan gets power n wont blow air

The bearings on the motor are dry and need oil. It's really not made to be oiled, but you may be able to take it apart and get some oil to the bearings if you want to mess with it.

SOURCE: lasko ionizer tower fan works but does not blow

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} I had a similar fan which quit. I could sometimes get it to start spinning by banging on it. Finally took it apart. Lots of small screws, all small phillips. As I suspected, the "thrust bearing," which supports the rotating components, had become "stiff." I thought that it would be a non-friction (ball bearing), but it is only a bushing, with washers supporting the shaft. With the motor opened up, I greased the bearing with petroleum jelly, and reassembled everything. It is spinning very quietly now. Final comment - this is probably more work than the average fix-it person would want to take on, but it is doable. It took about two hours, start to finish. I could do it in less than one hour now that I know how to do it.

Osilating stopped on lasko 2554 fan

Lasko's are good for stripping the gear in the base that makes it oscillate. If it's still under warranty, they will send you a new fan.

How do i take apart and clean my 2517 lasko t.f.

I took mine outside and hosed it down real good and then let it air dry for a day or 2. worked great! it was filthy!!! and that dang screw made it impossible for me to fully take it apart to clean it, so I decided it was either the hose or throw it away. mine was incredibly dusty and i was able to use a hose with a power nose and spray it really good. we'll see how long it works :)

My Lasko 40" tower has stopped blowing air - all other functions work as normal. Please advise.

Had the same problem with model 2551 - Lasko customer service said it was a failure of the electric motor that operates the blade unit. They do not sell replacement parts for their products, and if the unit is out of warranty (1 yr), your only resolution is to purchase another fan.
I disassembled my fan and discovered that the Decomin electric motor (#2033014) can be fairly easily replaced with a screwdriver and pair of pliers, but these motors are not for sale separately, even though they are still manufactured in China for Lasko and other product companies - they have their own website, but only sell fans, not parts.
