SOURCE: satellite a65 problem with atheros wireless driver after XP Pro SP2 installed

Hi,

Perhaps what is required is to install the drivers separately and use those from the manufacturer, Toshiba. Incidentally, there are 18 versions of a Satellite A65, which one is yours pls? (Versions start from S1062...S1762).

Pls start here and select Portables, Satellite, and A65 + Version, then click on "Show Results" button.

Alternately, you may want to jumpstart and try this for the RTL8139 and/or this for the Atheros WiFi. Both are for Windows XP.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: FUJITSU LIFEBOOK S6010 - INTERSIL PRISM PCI WIFI CARD - WPA LAN

Seems like you have a pretty old laptop. I'm guessing its got a wireless B card installed internally. And wireless B supports WEP most of the time. And if you're lucky the manufacturer of that wireless card may have an update to patch your card so that it will see WAP. Otherwise you can replace that internal card or get a usb / PCMCIA wireless card that supports at least wireless G standard.

I have ASUS X51H Notebook, but I have problems connecting to wireless network. The computer works on Windows 7 OS. I have tried all known solutions on the internet, but still didn't succeed to properly...

I first wanted to turn it on through Atheros Client Utility, but the "enable radio" button was disabled for clicking, so I tried the integrated Windows solution and that didn't work.

Then I reinstalled Windows and all the drivers and Atheros AR5006EG is recognized, but I can't get it to scan wifi networks.

FN+F2 doesn't do anything, the wireless button next to the Power button also doesn't do anything, and the button light is off. It is suspicios to me that the Zzz light (for sleep mode) is always on, even when the computer is running fully.

What do I do?

My built in wifi HP Wireless Assistant is not available. Ineed to install it again. It is a wireless network adoptor to connect internet via wifi

Boss You need to install suitable wireless network adopter so as to support your wifi in the laptop. generally the most common Network adopter used in Hp laptops is Atheros AR 5006X.. so go the device manager of the lapltop and check it out whether the drivers are working fine or not.. so install New drivers if required.. which you can easily find in internet.. some of the common website are..brothersoft.com..etc Hope that helps you..
