Question about Standard (CRT) Televisions
When the tv is first turned on the line is about 6-7" from the top, with everything above it blurry from other lines across screen. After it warms up, the lines start moving twards the top but never off the screen. This started out about 3 weeks ago with the tv barely being a year old. Insignia NS-27RTV When it was only a few months old it started getting a white line at the top of the screen, with a "curser" looking blinking line at the end. It gradually has moved further down the screen and now has a series of line (similar to several rows of Underline on keyboard.)
The original white line problem was caused by improper adjustment of the vertical size for which there is an internal adjustment.
The current problem could come from two different sources, one an adjustment again, the other from a capacitor that is losing capacitance and gaining losses; = sick.
If you are fortunate enough to have a surviving TV repair in your area, none of these problems is expensive to find or correct.
Don't be surprised to find the only TV shop operating out of a messy garage since those of us doing this kind of service are dying off and the price one can charge for labor has shrunken to the point that a real business address is too expensive to have.
