Question about Acomdata 500GB External Firewire HD 500 GB FireWire 400 Hard Drive

How to eject (exit) from nomad mobile desktop program/acomdata e5

We have a 500 GB external hybrid drive from acomdata. This is a high speed usb 2.0 type. The problem is that the window or screen for the nomad program is not showing the eject button or the "tour" button at the bottom.  It is as if it has been cut off. To make sure we don't cause problems with the computer or the acomdata device we need to know how to shut things down properly.  When we began installing this device on the computer last night, some of the screens were supposed to have a place to click "ok" but they didn't .  Hitting "enter" got us through .

Have you tried changing your display size for you computers desktop?
Try a higher resolution first, then if that doesn't work try a lower resolution.
Most like the items are there and your display resolution is the problem.

Acomdata HD120U2FE-72 120 GB external Hard Drive

OK, 2 things to check. First and foremost, when you plug it into the PC does it make that nifty noise to let you know it sees a new piece of hardware?

Second, if it does, you probably need to initialize the disk. Hit the windows button, right click on computer, and select manage. Under the storage category highlight Disk management. If you see the drive there, you can right click and select initialize, or format. From there the system should see the drive.

My acomdata 250 GB freezes and does not allow files to be copied and or moved back to desktop computer or to new files within the 250 external drive

there are three main reasons for a hard drive to freeze
up 1. you have reached the capacity of the drive or 2. the drive heads are worn to the point where the drive can not boot up to the PC , meaning the heads need
to be replaced 3. the interface between the unit and
the PC 2.0 high speed will not work into a 1.0 USB

then you have several minor things that can happen
like the degeneration of the cables that are being used , a quick remedy is to go to my computer
right click on the drive compress the drive to save space then do a clean on that drive and also sometimes the HDD needs to be reformatted .

Try checking your power cord adapter.
I found the same problem was with the cord.
Luckily, I had another Acomdata HD cord to check the problem.

Any 12 volt dc 750ma+ power adapter will work.Install the right plug on the end for your external drive. You can go to radioshack and they will have the proper end for your drive. You have to make sure the polarity is right though as it's direct current. The tip or center must be positive. I recommend testing this with a volt meter before plugging it into your drive to ensure proper polarity. I hope this helps you.
