Hello you have to visit the manufactures PC homepage to update your drivers.
Blue screen of death means you have a bad driver or not installed.
Are there any warnings in the device manager ???
Typical a yellow triangel

Try to start in failsafe mode by pressing F8 under restart
and select boot with network support.
Enter the controlpanel and select the device manager
Open the graphic submenu
Here you can see what driver you have.
If it is a INTEL you can renew the driver from here:

And enter the mainboard number.

You can also try windows update it sometimes find the driver for you.

Good luck

My gf9400 gt 1gb shows blue screen, until booting it works but while loading win 7 it crash dump blue screen appears every time???? but after plug out graphic card and plug in onboard vga works fine what...

Hello bsod often means you have a driver problem, or a graphic card problem.
The graphic card could have a defect, this can cause the blue screen.

Try also to check the device manager, for any other drivers missing.

Try first to download and install the newest driver from nvidia:

This is the 64 bit driver.

The 32 bit is here:

If i am wrong by my selection, choose another here:

Or use Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products, by installing a small bit of software.

If the driver update does not help, the graphic card must be renewed.

My advice is to uninstall ALL the old nvidia software, before you install the new.

Are the onboard graphic nvidia ???

This can sometimes create a conflict, when the graphic card brand are the same.
Try to disable the onboard graphic, in the device manager.

Good luck

Graphics media accelerator driver

Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

The graphics chipset is the G.P.U.
Graphics Processing Unit,

The GPU used in the Pavilion dv4000 series of Notebook PC's is made by Intel.

It is Intel GMA technology.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator,

IF the problem is related to an HP Pavilion dv4000 Notebook PC,
you are just stating the SERIES.

The EXACT Product Number (P/N) is in a white Service Tag, on the bottom of the laptop.

Click on the purple Product Support and Troubleshooting
Left-click once in the box under the heading -
Enter a product name/number

Type the exact product number. Click on Search at the end of the box.
Now you are on the main support page for YOUR laptop.
Download drivers from this page.

Of the few models of the list, ( 17 are shown), that comes up when I click on Product Specifications, they all seem to use the Intel GMA 900 graphics CORE.

(Intel GMA 910G, 915G, and 915Gx graphics chipsets, are based on this Core)

Basic information over.

On the main support page for YOUR laptop, click on the subheading -
Software and Driver Downloads

I'm going to use the Pavilion dv4030US model as an example.

After I click on Software and Driver Downloads, (Don't believe we can use the Ampersand symbol), it takes me to a page asking me to choose the O/S the computer is using.

(O/S = Operating System.
Windows XP and Windows 7 are two examples of an O/S)

I click on the blue Down Arrow, at the end of the box for -
Select your operating system, then click 'Next'.

In the examples given I click on the O/S my computer is using.
For the Pavilion dv4030US Notebook PC, there is only one example given;
Windows XP.

(Works for both the Home Edition and the Pro Edition)

I then click on Next to the right of the box. (Next is in blue rectangular shape)

Click on the + sign next to - Display/Monitor (1)
Now click on the blue -

Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS and 915GML Express Chipset Family Video Driver

Scroll down. Under the bold heading - Details and specifications,
click on the blue file name - sp29885.exe [ 1/1 11.26M ]

(1 of 1 File.
11.26MegaByte in size. { 11.26MB )

A small window will come up on the right -
Opening sp29885.exe

Click on Save File.

Another small window will come up. In the heading at the top of this small window, tells you where the file will download to.
Suggest you write it down.

The wording may have Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads, in it.

(Different if you are using a computer with Vista, or Windows 7. If so post back in a Comment, and I will detail it )

Desktop: The file will be on your desktop screen. (sp29885.exe)

My Documents: Click on Start, then on My Documents.

Downloads: Click on Start, then My Documents.
DOUBLE-click on Downloads.

When you see the file name DOUBLE-click right on it.
The Installation Wizard will appear.
Just click on Next, Next, and Finish.

(Windows knows the place to put the graphics driver file. DO NOT make any changes in the second window. Just click on Next at the bottom)

You have to Download the file, AND Install it. That is what the above is.

When finished close all windows, go back to your desktop screen.
Restart your computer.

[ Driver: A small piece of software that allows the Operating System to 'communicate' with a device. The graphics chipset is a device ]

If you are still having graphics problems after this, I suggest you take a look at the Screen Resolution.

RIGHT-click on an empty area of your desktop screen.
In the drop-down list click on - Properties
In the Display Properties window click on the Settings tab.

In the middle of the Display Properties window, and to the left side, is Screen resolution.

Move the slider to the native resolution for your LCD screen.

Also look at Color quality to the right.
In the box under this heading should state - Highest (32 bit)

IF not; click on the blue Down Arrow to the right of this box.
In the list click on Highest (32 bit)

(If you tried it before, and Highest (32 bit) wasn't listed, try it now after the driver installation )

Now go below to the Right, and click on Apply.
Finally go to the bottom left, and click on OK.
(You have to do both)
