I have a iPod shuffle 2nd gen. But haven't used for a long time. Now its not switching on. What to do?? :(

Batteries--especially rechargeable ones--do not hold their charge forever. The batteries power naturally drains, even if you don't use them. Just recharge your ipod, and it should work fine.

How to recharge the Apple iPod Shuffle Silver MP3 Player

According to the manual found here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/ipodshuffleuserguide.pdf

"Remove the USB cap and connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your
computer. The battery status light on the back of iPod shuffle turns on.
The iPod shuffle battery is 80-percent charged in about two hours, and fully charged in
about four hours.
When the battery is charging, the iPod shuffle status light is amber. When the battery is
fully charged, the light is green until you disconnect iPod shuffle. If you don't see the
status light, try another USB port on your computer"

Batteries also wear out from time to time, so if you find that it's not charging no matter what you do, it's likely that you need a new battery. Here's a link to more info on iPod batteries: http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html

How long to charge the ipod to your computer?

Fully charging the battery takes about 4 hours. You can also fast-charge the battery to 80 percent capacity in 1 hour (2 hours for iPod (Click Wheel)). Charging the battery may take longer if you're using iPod as it charges.

Hold the power button and the home button down at the same time for 20 seconds. if it still doesn't power on, try to put it into DFU mode and plug it into iTunes to restore it:
1. Hold the power button and home button for 10 seconds.
2. Let go of the power button and continue holding the power button.

My Ipod Touch will not do anything. It won't come on or anything.

Step 1: Try connecting your device to a charger, and let it sit there for 15 minutes and it might come back on. Reason : Maybe you forgot to charge it?
Step 2: If this does not work, try connecting your iPod to your computer for 15 minutes. (your iPod might not have been charged, and you might have a faulty wall charger)
Step 3: If this does not work, it may be because you have used your iPod's battery to its fullest extent meaning it no longer holds a charge. If this happens you can either
  1. Go to the Apple Store and if it has been less than 1 year since you purchased it, you can get a free replacement
  2. Go to the Apple Store and ask for them to repair it for a fee and some waiting time.
  3. Go to the Apple Store with the iPod and buy a new one - they will take 10% off the price of your new iPod.

My ipod wont hold a charge. It keeps going out

How are you charging it?, if your charging it on the computer it slowly decreases the batery life everytime you charge it ( as in it last for 5 hours to 4 and a half) so i suggest you start using a wall charger in future :)

The new Battery does not hold charge.

if you charge it directly from the wall you may have a peak or an excesive charge due to a cheap charger or a defective one that may cause a short to a diode or resistor inside your ipod taking all the charge from the battery, Apple may charge you more than a new one is worth. But if you want to use it only for the car or the office you can keep it connected or into one of those nice sound sistems for Ipod is good, at least you wont have to throw it on the garbage. Next time try to use a sourge protector for all your electonics their inexpensive and they can save you a lot of money.
