Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T9 Digital Camera
Battery does not pop up when button pushed. have to use needle nose pliers to pull it out. won't hold charge very long either.
The optimum solution for you would be to replace the battery. As far as the battery is not popping up with ease, after taking it out take a look at the small push up areas and see whether they are working fine i.e. the elastic spring underneath them are working fine and they are coming back and forth when being pushed down.

Mine started to do that too. I charged the battery and then played with it taking the battery out and placing it back in and it just started to work again. Try placing it in manual mode as in shutter or appeture, rather that automatic and see if it makes a difference. These are things i played with before it started to work again.

Yes, power buttons do break on these cameras. Contact your local Sony service center and see how much will it cost to replace the top panel. If they ask too much, feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I work in a Sony service center.

Aparently you have to use sony batteries with a sony charger. I have the same problem and have been trying different batteries because I thought what's the difference with batteries as long as they are rechargeable? I spoke with a guy at the sony store and he told me to use sony batteries with the sony charger I have. Don't know if he's talking BS or not but I'll give it a shot and see if it will hold a longer battery life. When I bought the camera it was great but now it dies really fast! I'll let you know how things turn out! Until then, if anybody else has a suggestion let us know so we can enjoy our H1's!
