My 1998 chevy dually has a 7.4 engine and it keep blowing out alternators

Best course: Install a LARGER CAPACITY aftermarket alternator. Also, if you have a car stereo system with a subwoofer, MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING AT LEAST A 2.5 FARAD CAPACITOR AT THE INPUT OF YOUR AUDIO AMPLIFIER. (Not using a capacitor with high-wattage sound systems can literally blow out alternators!)

Is the PTP 400 Full 5.4 GHz effected by fog and other weather conditions? Have link that goes down in performance in foggy weather.

How far away is your other antenna?

2.4 GHz signals may be attenuated by up to 0.05 dB/km (0.08 dB/mile) by torrential rain (4 inches/hr). Thick fog produces up to 0.02 dB/km (0.03 dB/mile) attenuation. At 5.8 GHz, torrential rain may produce up to 0.5 dB/km (0.8 dB/mile) attenuation, and thick fog up to 0.07 dB/km (0.11 dB/mile). Even though rain itself does not cause major propagation problems, rain will collect on the leaves of trees and will produce attenuation until it evaporates.

I just installed a Pyle Marine CD player in my street rod. It works perfectly until I start the engine, then the sound cuts out. I switched it out with another car and it works fine in the other car.

You should be looking for a large capacitor to insert in the stereo's power leads. One farad, more or less. The CD shuts off when the battery voltage drops below a certain voltage. This prevents the voltage dropping below the threshold while cranking. Available at Wal Mart, Canadian Tire, Radio Shack type stores.

Phoenix digital 1.5 farad capacitor installation

First off Charging the capacitor can put you holding a high power voltage source. This can be very dangerous. It is enough to kill you. I suggest for safety go ahead and mount the capacitor in its location. The easy way to charge a capacitor is using a 12 volt Battery Charger. Hook the charger up to the capacitor just like it is a battery. + to + and - to - ... Charge the capacitor until the charger meter falls to near zero amps or indictates full charge. No need to use a light bulb or anything. The Charger comes with it own limiting circuitry. I will be posting the wiring instruction shortly.
