SOURCE: Saeco Gran Crema Espresso does not pump water

The machine needs to be primes.
Please trie and release hot water though the steam nossle.
Do like this
Open the steamer and then trie and make a cup of coffe. this will make the hot water come out thought the steamer instead of the coffe outlet.
Why you should do this is becuse the machine has it alot more easier to prime it self though the steamer then the coffe outlet.

SOURCE: No water coming through portafilter to make espresso.

You have a stuck check valve. Try running the pump with the steam knob open, then shutting it then, opening it 4 or 5 times and see if it will pop open. Make sure that you don't have the portafilter in at the time you are doing this.

SOURCE: The espresso side of the

The clue here is that the problem involves the hot wate and the single or double espressos. These three functions require accurate water measurements and they are programmable. It appears that the flow meter is not sending the correct information to the control unit. This could happen if you have blockages or if the flow meter is not working anymore. Most likely you need a new flow meter which only costs about $20 and should not be too difficult to replace. It is located between the water tank and the pump.

Fault on Siemens TK76K573, after pump replacement

The water passages in the espresso makes may be clogged. Please descale the machine. Depending on the period for which the descaling was not done, it may need nore than one descaling cycle to remove accumulated Calcium deposits.
Calcium deposits narrow water passages and reduce the pump pressure to push water through the coffee grounds.

My EM100 Espresso Maker will not brew? Water comes out when no portafilter on, but not when filter on for brewing? Help!!

This is a complex problem. 1. remove, check and clean brewhead (round screen above portafilter where water comes out); it can become clogged with gunk. 2. brewhead gasket may be old or damaged, they can be purchased on eBay. 3. brewing basket may have become clogged, I don't know if running cleaner solution through it will help, may have to replace it. 4. Likeliest source of problem is coffee ground too fine and/or tamped down too hard. These are not professional level machines and cannot work with very fine grind or heavy tamping. Try a coarser grind and a light tamp with the larger brew basket. Coffee must be ground with good quality burr grinder for correct consistency. John Saxon/

Will I still get coffee if the pump is broken. The machine is leaking staem and water underneath and I beleive it is the staem valve but a 'dodgy' coffee machine repairman is telling me it is the...

Hello,

I am an expert espresso certified man. First of all your repair man is wrong. Let me explain. If you are getting steam at all, then your pump is not broken. This is the way it works, you have water in your machine, it goes into a area where it heats the water by heating elements, then as it heats it builds pressure by air and heat. The machine has a water pump in it, that operates by of course electricity, it pumps the water that is heated by the elements through the machine to of course make shots of espresso. The steam part is simular as it goes in a area, the gets hot and produces steam from the water, like a iron would of press kind of method. THE MACHINE will not make coffee or steam if pump is not working. If you turn machine on, and hear it humming or running, when trying to make a cup, then motor is running, if you turn it on and try to make a cup of coffee or steam and hear nothing at all, then pump is not working. If your machine is leaking under machine from from the steam valve, means it would not do that if pump is not working. Sense it is leaking, this tells me it is clogged. Most likely your need your machine cleaned good, that means descaled. Clean hoses, use small needle to poke in end of steam wand to clean out good jet air holes and basket screen. Find your manual, and it should tell you how to properly clean your machine, and even can use can of compressed air, that you can spray in hoses. It appears to be it is clogged, and when the pump or lines are clogged , it will back up like a clogged toilet and flood area around base and underneath. This whole problem is a cleaning problem, do to a clog or build up. I hope this. PS no if you pump is out or clogged, you would not get coffee as it need to the pump to work (unclogged) to push the water through the heads. Thanks Mike

Water is pouring out the front of the machine- don't know if the seal is loose or what

It's likely that the drain pump is clogged. Debris from pockets often work their way into the drain pump, occasionally clogging the pump. Other things to check are the drain hose and tube for obstructions.
